I was browsing the web late last night, and was looking on Scooty Moores website.
Anyway. i saw a pic of some guitars elvis owned, on the stairs at graceland...

Elvis with his J200

then we know from that this came along
http://www.gibson.com/Files/aaFeaturesImages2009/elvis-j200-front-back.jpg
"When the ’56 model came back, the old red floral design pick guard had been replaced with a new black pick guard with a mod design and the name ELVIS PRESLEY inlaid on the finger board as requested by Scotty "
So i always assumed that this was unique :hmm:

However i saw this...

Is seems the unknown jumbo guitar near the top of the stairs has a red scratchplate in the same shape of Elvis' j200  did they get the idea from this guitar? was it some type of prototype design for the scratchplate? it looks like a Gibson or Epiphone from the headstock, however due to the poor image quality i cant really see.

Does anyone have any photos? any ideas?

it probably is as it looks, just another j200 after all they were essentially elvis' guitar of choice it wouldn't surprise me if he had one that never left the house or maybe it was to go on the unperformed tour in 77
