after listening to ELVIS incredible voice on many a album/cd for so many decades i have often wonderd if he didn't have such a great voice would his charisma and looks have bin enough , to sustain a career that lasted over 23 years. After all much has bin said about his looks [many focus on this part of him] , for me ELVIS could have weighed 300 pounds and i would still go see and hear him and also buy those albums would you?

Looks and charisma can only carry you so far! It was and still it the voice, among other things of course!

Elvis, or should I said, we were lucky the fans, that Elvis was a total package.....the look...and the powerfull voice...!

the voice was what made him last 32 years beyond death

the power, the range, the emotions he could pack into it

a lesser voice would have been crushed by the movie soundtracks and never recovered

I tend to think his charisma is a huge part of his appeal-but the voice is what sells the records. His type of charisma is powerful-but he had a voice to match it.

I've just been listening to If I Can Dream. When he hits `strength' to dream his voice is amazing. That'sjust one example of many.

I think what was unique in Elvis's voice is that his spiritual and deepest essence could come through. He was his voice, it was one with him and it fully expressed his true essence. And it was deep, humble but passionate in the same time. It can make a pure connection to one's soul. It resonates through time and space from the past and from the future as well. It's timeless and superior. And one more notice: his voice expresses comforting and calming wisdom too. Since his name means 'All wise'...
