New VIVA LAS VEGAS CD Soundtrack

Sony have released a clutch of Elvis Presley’s 1960s soundtracks on remastered CD and “Viva Las Vegas” from 1964 is one of the best: from the popular opening title track to the jazz infused “I Need Somebody To Lean On” this is a cracker with its sparkling audio revealing every nuance. More standouts include Ray Charles’s “What I’d Say,” the Latin sounds of “Do The Vega” and the catchy “C’mon Eveybody” – but the real piece de resistance is the fantastic, sultry duet between Elvis & Anne Margret on, “You’re The Boss” which just sizzles (why wasn’t that in the movie?) Viva is also out on Blu-ray DVD so why not have double fun! Highly recommended.

I haven't picked up the re-issued soundtracks yet, but I did get the first 3 re-issues in December (ELVIS NOW, GOOD TIMES and FROM E.P. BOULEVARD) and I was quite impressed with the improved sound quality of those 3 releases. So to hear that the soundtracks also are improved with the remastered sound quality is FANTASTIC news!!! :D

Guess I have to get my copies soon... ;)

You won't regret it Mike – "You're The Boss" is superb with great lyrics too.

The new ELVIS "NOW" CD is one of my favourites with "We Can Make The Morning" a particular highlight!

The new sound really brings it to the fore and turns a previously heard song (that I didn't care much for) into a diamond ––– "in the middle of the night when the moon is shining bright, ahh you're the boss" coos Anne Margret – just brilliant!
