A lucky dog
I once read it was a female dog (can't remember where) always thought it was male... :hmm:

Does anyone have a comprehensive list of all Elvis' pets through the years? :hmm:

No, but I seem to recall that he had a horse called Bear

It seems that Elvis acquired and discarded beasts so casually that compiling an accurate list would be almost as difficult as assembling a comprehensive inventory of his women. :closedeye

Maybe Alanna Nash should do a research on this and write a book titled Baby, Let's Go To The Zoo :closedeye

It could feature interview material with the animals themselves, in which they'd each claim that Elvis would briefly pat them but withhold actually stroking in a sustained and purposeful way.

Then Nash's resident psychologist would explain how Elvis's vast fame caused 'performance anxiety' in his treatment of animals, fearing that his methods would be subject to unreasonable scrutiny.

He would probably come to the conclussion that singing Old Shep so often during his chidlhood affected his way of patting his pets' heads :closedeye

I don't even dare to think what they could find out interviewing Scatter...

What Linda's dog are you referring to?
According to Jeanne LeMay's book that's Getlo. Are not Getlo and Getlow the same dog?

Yes, they are.

These pics were first published in 1978; I think she may be wrong here though.

Thanks ! you've done a nice research ! I've heard Elvis had peacocks too ?!

Teddy

Oh yeah, I forgot about the peacocks.

Doesn't his Paradise, Hawaiian Style co-star Suzanna Leigh claim to have given him the idea for acquiring peacocks?

Incidentally, has anyone read the hilariously titled Paradise, Suzanna Style? :hmm:

I believe the dog in the Hot4Elvis photo is Getlow.

Linda Thompson's dog Foxhugh was a small white dog.

There are a few of her with this dog in the 'red Graceland' photos. Doesn't she have this dog with her in the one where she is laying on the fake white fur rug in the foyer of Graceland?

Somewhere along the way Edmund became Aunt Delta's dog. There are funny stories around that the dog wasn't too nice and maybe even a little possessed!!!

:king:

Edit : The dog in the 'red' Graceland foyer photos is Getlow, the auburn chow.

Then it seems like Edmund was a fitting dog for Aunt Delta as she was "possessed too".:lol::lol:

I think it was Edmund the dog Elvis used to feed with bacon during breakfast
Edmund loved to be with Delta and didn't obey Elvis at all, so once he said to her "You know aunt Delta? I used to have a dog..." and finally gave the dog to his aunt

From what I understood, Getlo was a female Chow (not sure if pure bred or not) and Edmund was some fluffy little white thing....probably an ankle biter.
