Fantastic sound on the new "Good Times" FTD and great versions of "I Got A Feelin' In My Body" "My Boy," a rockin' take 3 of "Talk About The Good Times" and a gorgeous, bluesy, gospel-tinged "If That Isn't Love" (take 1) and that's just for starters fantastic release by FTD and a delicious booklet too!

this is a great FTD. Good times is one of my favorite albums. I love hearing the takes of i've got a thing about you baby because that is one of my favorite elvis songs. Also i loved takes 1-7 of She wears my ring because it is very funny where elvis keeps laughing and i love these type of studio moments. Also, take one of lovin arms is great to hear with the rehearshal right after it. So this is one of my favorite FTDs.

did they remix this album? it sounds so much different than the "masters" on the 70's box set. it's not just the mastering/EQ, the mixes are different.

did they tinker with the mixes on the 70's box or on this FTD release? they're not the same.

there's way more echo on Elvis' voice and the drums are buried.

how does the new standard CD release of this compare? (did Vic Anesini do the new single disc?)

there's way more echo on Elvis' voice and the drums are buried.
Bad news it's not good for my taste I like to hear every beat of drum Elvis was not force him self in stax but drums are the best in this album what a pitty if Vic Anesini buried them in the mix
please tell me it is not:(

apparently this is the original LP mix, so it's not Vic Anesini's fault. i never had the "Good Times" LP and am therefore used to the way these songs sound on the 70's box set.

Personally I have always enjoyed the GOOD TIMES album, so I was happy to see they released it in the "Classic Albums" series. I received my copy finally and have to say that FTD did a TOP NOTCH job on this one! The sound quality is markedly improved from previous issues of this album and the outtakes are just FANTASTIC!!!! I LOVE the studio banter between takes 7 & 8 of GOOD TIME CHARLIE'S GOT THE BLUES...just a taste of Elvis' classic sense of humor.

Overall, I recommend this one for everyone regardless of what you may think of the original album...there are enough hidden gems throughout the outtakes to make it worth purchasing and the improved sound quality is certainly worth the price of admission alone!!! (y)

Well... Hello guys.. My first review...To be honest with you, after Elvis album in 1973, I think everything got betterbut it needs more ad. in general public. People and young generations need to know these albums and also concerts like Hampton more and more. For this album I can say is this is really nice sound and clear elvis style. One of my favourite.

I have the original vinyl album. I have compared the mixes and this set has the closest mix in regard to mix and reverb to the original that I've heard on CD. "I've got a Feeling In My Body" finally has the depth of reverb that I found on the record. The sound is a little bit crisper than on the original, but to me that's good, some vinyl seemed to be a little too bass heavy for my liking. I have to say that I enjoyed this FTD very much and will probably wear it out in short order

I liked this album when it was originally released. Still have my original vinal! Anyway, I love the FTD treatment. IMHO, this was and in many cases is an underappreciated album by Elvis. It shows a great diversity of music, and his voice sounding really awesome. This is one FTD release that makes its way to my CD player often.
