I would have to disagree strongly there. in my opinion the best way to tribute elvis is to sound like him and i am afraid Klush just does not have a strong voice, I would say no,1 goes to doucg church.
Shawn has a very dynamic and very well rehearsed act, but never seems to sing songs the same, one time you will hear him do a song, the next time he does it, it does not sound anything like last time.
check out Dough Church, Rick Lenzi, Jesse aron and Cody Slaughter. all very good tributes.

Do you know if Cody has had work done to look more like Elvis? i think he looks quite a bit like Elvis in the second pic. Look like is being very respectable to Elvis as well.
there a guy in Ireland he doesn't try to look like elvis but he sings songs by other dead artist in an Elvis style voice, he's very good i think http://www.homeoftheking.com/

Have you heard that to try to copy someone's look, voice or mannerism is in fact a Compliment to the person. Though no one will ever be Elvis except ELVIS, 2 of these youngmen do a nice impersonation.

His stance and manners are really, really good. Most of the impersonators mistake Elvis' movement from the mid 50s to his 70s period. While Elvis was swinging in those early years, he stood still pretty much while singing in the (60s) movies.
This guys seems to do it right: I can imagine Elvis moving like that in 1960 doing this song live.
Another problem with most impersonators: they take the look of one era, practice on Elvis' voice during that period and then, while performing, not only move like ELvis from a different era, but also select songs that Elvis never sung in that period. If you wnna look like the 50s Elvis, don't sing Suspicious Minds. If you look like 1977 Elvis, don't perform a song like Ready Teddy or If I Can Dream. That doesn't match.

Some impersonators know how to move and sing - technically. I tried to listen in spite of all the screams from the audience - glad the good Lord gave me a voice that's anatomically less like Elvis'.. in that way I'm forced to find solutions of my own, whether you like me or not is another question..

i have seen shawn 4 times, and if you was to turn your ears off, its a pretty darn good show. However, the voice is just not there. im not knocking the guy, but it seems how he is on stage is very rehearsed, and you feel it, the best eta's do what elvis did, - thats what you feel like doing, not just looking over your shoulder to backing singers at the same time you sing a song, its all the small things.
I have seen doug church many times, and he is the most "elvis" like eta i have met, he wont win any lookalike prizes, although he is not a bad looking guy by any means, its just he is a honest guy and he is not trying to be something hes not, he is singing Elvis songs, with a voice that CAN sing, that can hit notes, and hold them, he does not change the key to songs, or hide behind backing singers, and will do any song, he wont not do a song because he cant sing it, there are some awesome versions of songs he does.
I dont see how anyone can watch this and not say its awesome,

Oh boy; Well, the kid Slaughter has a good look but c'mon,he doesnt sing that well at all.Elvis was a singer.Shawn Klush doesnt even have that good of a voice either. He hides behind his singers when he cant hit the notes.Great look. And some of these younger guys like Trevino,Slaughter make some people think that Elvis did 100 moves in a matter of a minute during one song when Elvis wasnt like that at all.Very exxagerated and overdone. But i guess thats what you have to try to do when either the voice is not there or you dont sound much like the man himself. You see they either have a look and no voice or the other way around. No one can be 100% like our man Elvis.I guess they're all trying. So i give them all an A for effort. But no one will ever be like E.P.Never will happen.Theres a lot of good tributes out there. The guys mentioned before Doug Church,Rick Lenzi ,etc... Do a good tribute. Also a fantastic voice which i can say that the guy can actually sing is a young guy by the name of Ted Torres.Excellent voice, one of the best. Long live Elvis!!!!!

If he was himself, he'd be so much better.
People need to be themselves, in my opinion, as there isn't ever, anyone as good as each of us, individually, as we can only be ourselves.
He'd be fantastic as an artist, if he used his personality, his own expressions.
I hope he realises, as no-one can come close to Elvis, it's impossible to even try.
Such a very nice looking young guy.

It's obvious that it's not Elvis. There was a lot young men from the day Elvis hit national stardom in 1956 that looked somewhat like Elvis.
In my opinion the only person that comes really close to looking like Elvis is from his own bloodline. Lisa Marie and even Lisa's looks are mixed up with Cilla's but that unique mixture, Native American, Irish, Scottish look that Elvis had is **** near impossible to capture. Even after these guys get plastic surgery done.
All we see with these ETAs are gimps of his essence and it's great how after hours devoted to rehearsing these men give us and Elvis an awesome remembrance of all his accomplishments. That accomplishment bar was set so high by Elvis that no other human being as ever come close to it.
I give these men a lot of credit for trying to duplicate that stamp that Elvis left behind. The funny thing is, when I see each one of these impersonators, they have their own original look and sound. So i'd give them the same advice Elvis gave an impersonator in July of 1977.
""Mimicry is a sincere form of being a fan ... This is a great compliment to me that you would work so hard on that act like mine but never neglect your own special abilities to be yourself also."
There's only one Elvis
Full Letter to Impersonator
In July 1977, Elvis Presley wrote a letter to an early pioneer of a now booming industry.
"Congratulations on winning the talent competition," the king wrote to the Elvis impersonator. "Mimicry is a sincere form of being a fan ... This is a great compliment to me that you would work so hard on that act like mine but never neglect your own special abilities to be yourself also."
He's a nice looking boy (man:blush:) anyway. (y)
