I just thought I'd let everyone know that Marty Lacker has just now put up his autographed pictures of Elvis co-stars and other celebrities on ebay.
He is selling them for $3,000.00

I very much doubt this will be the last sale from Marty!

I feel sorry for Marty on two levels, 1) He is trading on his friends fame in a way that he knows would disappoint Elvis. 2) If this merchendise is genuine you have to feel sorry for Marty that he has to sell personal items to generate income.

Marty must be in one hell of a pickle to be selling as much as he is over the last few months.

you'd think he would be happy with the $2,950 he got yesterday.............

Yep, there's no need to feel sorry for Marty while he's printing his own money.
Next he'll be selling polaroids of his right thigh on E-bay. "Unique photo of Elvis's best man's leg- $1999".
Then, of course, Diamond Joe will sue him for half of the sale price, claiming that strictly speaking he was 50% of Elvis's 'best man'.

Well, they are his pictures so he can do whatever he wants with them. I would do the same if I needed money.

Thanks for the info. Brian!!! (y)

I figured he would probably list these, as he mentioned they were for sale in his last auction. It will be interesting to see what he gets for these... :hmm:

I didn't say you have said anything to the contrary either but now that I read your post again I get the impression you don't think what he is doing is right, which is fine with me by the way ;)
If anyone is really interested on buying those pictures from him I guess they will make all the right questions.

If Mr. Lacker (or anyone for that matter) is ever in need of money, then I will be more than happy to sell autographed images of ME in order to raise funds for your needs.

This way nobody has to sell any of their sentimental valuables.

If Marty Lacker wants to sell his pictures then that's fine
if somebody wants to buy them that's okay

Marty Lacker probably wouldn't sell them if nobody was interested in them
In that case why not sell them since he's retired and needs the money for his house.
Nobody gives anything away.

It's interesting to note his selling of his pictures has been more successful than the honorary Memphis mafia certificates that Lamar Fike and Marty were selling recently.
I'm glad he's found something.

That suprises me I thought someone would've made at least one bid by now.

It could be that people are just becoming a little more selective in their memorabilia.

I'm surprised that his other collection of easily reproduced photos got fifty-something bids yet this presumably unique collection of autographs hasn't had so much as a sniff.
I guess the serious bidders will be hanging back until the last minute to avoid pumping the winning price up unnecessarily.

Stunning photo of Ann-Margret.

I think the same as Ken, people are waiting until the last moment so the prices aren't driven up.

Maybe no one will bid on them at all.

I wouldn't buy autographed pictures that were signed for someone else.

Besides like Tommy said Ann Margret signs autographs for fans and Shelley Fabares probably does as well

Has he ever had a "proper job" ?

May,

Yes, as a matter of fact, Marty has had a "proper job". He was involved with Chips Moman at American Sound Studios when Elvis recorded there in 1969 and he was also involved in the starting of Pepper records (also) in Memphis, TN and he also had a business out in California after he left Elvis in 1976....so, cut him a little slack. Not all of these guys have mooched off of Elvis. Marty is retired and does, in fact, need the money for his house and repairs.

You know what? I give up replying to posts like this or the previous one.

Marty left Elvis in 1967 to start Pepper Record company and then he began working as co-owner with Lincoln "Chips" Moman two years later when Elvis began recording there in Jan/February, 1969.

Here's another example of a "job" that Marty has had:

In March of '77, I moved to California and went to work as a salesman for a food company. I'd been off the drugs five months and I wanted to get away from everything.

Marty (at the time of the "Revelations From The Memphis Mafia" book) had his own advertising and sales firm. He did marketing and promotion projects for various companies and was involved in the film, "Elvis: The Echo Will Never Die" so - like I say - cut him some slack.

What would anyone of us do if our livelihood (for example, working for Elvis) was suddenly taken away from us? You have to realize that most of these guys were around him 24/7 but that they did have families and other commitments so for anyone to say that they didn't have a life outside of Elvis is totally off the mark. (n)

I'm sure Marty is kind of old to be looking for a job. But let him sell what he can, it doesn't hurt anybody. We are here only once.

Agreed. Marty is in his 70s now and he deserves and should be allowed to do with his pictures and memorabilia as he wishes.

I'm outta here.....

Have you met her? Is she quite approachable then? I always imagine her to be very quiet and stay out of the limelight. I guess that impression comes from not saying much about her and Elvis's relationship. (y)

Marty Lacker got zero bids for his autographed pictures

I would have thought his autographed pictures would have attracted some bidders but it didn't.

It's ironic that Marty's pictures that he sold just recently (which most of those had been seen previously) sold real well but autographed pics by celebs got 0 offers.
Marty still needs money for his house what is he going to do.

Hi Franny..
and this is what he thought of.. Posted on ELVIS.TKC Forum yesterday by a friend of Marty's "Tny" ! (Opening Post)

am a friend of Marty's and since I am a member here he asked me to post this offer to the members of TKC. He initially had these pictures on eBay last week and the highest bidder was $2950 although they are worth much more but the guy turned out to be a game player and had no intention of paying for them So Marty decided for now to offer a special deal directly to Elvis fans who collect and are interested.
------------------------------------------------------------------
For twenty years Marty Lacker was a close friend of Elvis Presley and for a number of years was his right hand man or as Elvis and The Memphis Mafia called it, The Foreman. Through those years Marty took some great candid pictures of Elvis and the MM in various situations and he was also given many pictures by other people who shot them. There are some great never before seen pictures of various places and times that Elvis and the guys enjoyed within those 20 years. He also has a couple of pictures of Elvis' jewelry that Elvis gave to Marty as well as pictures that include a few other stars that knew Elvis taken with Elvis or the guys with them.

There is also a rare copy of the original program of the first annual memorial event held at the Circle G Ranch on August 16,1978 in memory of Elvis where Marty was one of the featured speakers and co-producers. There are a couple of other rare documents in the collection. There are pictures of Elvis at Graceland and other Memphis locations, Hollywood, Hawaii and other places.

We are calling them a collection because Marty has decided to sell all 210 pictures, one of the largest photo collections related to Elvis and he is selling them as a total 210 picture package. This is not a sale of individual pictures.
The collection also includes pictures of Elvis' wedding where Marty served as Elvis' co-Best Man, pictures of the inside and outside of Graceland with Elvis and the guys. Pictures on movie sets and locations. Pictures of a few of Elvis' close relatives not seen before. Plus so many more different situations. Over 98 percent of the pictures are casual candids just a few are professionally posed pictures. They are both 8x10's and snapshot size. It is a great mixture and one that any fan or Elvis or photograph devotee would love to have. Judging from a recent auction of Elvis items in Chicago, a few pictures of ElvisÂ’ wedding went quickly and for big money ($6,000), therefore anyone interested in this one of a kind super collection we advise to get your bid in quickly. Compared to that auction price for just a few pictures this collection is a big bargain.

FROM MARTY

SO THAT YOU DON'T THINK I'M IMPOSING ON TKC I ASKED MY LONGTIME FRIEND JORDAN IF IT WAS OK TO POST THIS HERE AND HE SAW NOTHING WRONG WITH IT AS I DID NOT WANT TO IMPOSE ON YOU ALL BUT THIS IS A ONE OF A KIND MEMORABLILIA PHOTO COLLECTION THAT I HAVE AMASSED OVER 20 YEARS OF BEING CLOSE TO ELVIS. UNFORTUNATELY FOR ME THE GUY WHO WAS THE HIGH BIDDER WAS A JUVENILE GAME PLAYER AND HE RENEGED ON PAYING HIS $2950 HIGH BID. I WAS GOING TO ACCEPT THAT AMOUNT EVEN THOUGH I KNOW THIS COLLECTION IS WORTH MUCH MORE. THANK YOU FOR READING THE FOLLOWING

The highest bid last Sunday was $2950 even though I think 210 pictures are worth a heck of a lot more.

I will sell them outright for $2500 and will include a COA. I also have 30 autographed pictures of Elvis' movie co-stars that should bring more but I will sell the whole deal all 240 pictures if you increase it to $2800.

Thing is I need to do it ASAP as I need a new furnace for my house which is why I'm selling this collection that I've held all these years.. If that doesn't suit you make me a fair offer. I know the least I'll take and need for my furnace however at the price I quoted that's a steal. That's a little over $10 per photo and there are some photos in there that you could probably sell for a few hundred dollars each.

He can see the pictures at:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260500086695

The big picture on that site is less than half the pictures. if you click on the small pictures underneath the big one and click on pictures 2,3,&4 on the top row he can seel the rest of the pictures, there's a lot of them and we could not get them all in one picture.

If you are interested you can email me at moon7332@bellsouth.net

Thanks, ... Marty

And he has replied Twice.. but so far no offers have been made..
