Thank you very much Mike, he must be hard up to sell, I wonder if these are really originals or copies, from what I can see, I didn't see anything earth-shattering or of very much interest.

For twenty years Marty Lacker was a close friend of Elvis Presley and for a number of years was his right hand man or as Elvis and The Memphis Mafia called it, “The Foreman”.

Through those years Marty...

...he must be hard up to sell...

Well according to the auction listing, he's selling them to help pay for some repairs on his house... :hmm:

They certainly look like originals to me, but obviously I'm not a photographic expert!

As I was browsing through the pictures listed with the auction, I did see a couple of candids obviously shot during the filming of PARADISE HAWAIIAN STYLE (he's wearing the blue shirt with the vertical Hawaiian design on it) as well as a couple of shots of Elvis driving a car that I don't recall seeing anywhere before. :hmm:

Hmmm...I don't know about that pal. If the pictures can be proven to be authentic, having unpublished candids of Elvis (if there are indeed unpublished ones in there) might be worth quite a bit of money... :hmm:

Perhaps we should defer to other experts??? ;)

I don't see why they wouldn't be since he knew Elvis and was around him quite a bit.
Marty Lacker was saying the other day on the site that he posts that a lot of Elvis co-stars including Ann Margret signed pictures for him and gave them to him. He also said that he went over to where the Beatles were staying the day after they met Elvis and they gave him some autographed pictures.
If he has pictures autographed by Ann Margret and the Beatles it would be worth a whole lot probably more than what he's asking for.

Whoever ends up buying those is just throwing money away.Just glancing at the images I see previously released shots. Many of them.Looks like photos he just picked up along the way.Lacker is in many of the shots I believe.Doesnt look like a goldmine of umnpublished pics he took.Im guessing most are just reprints if not all. They all look "soft" which implies they are reprints.I would stay away from this big time.

having looked through there doesn't seem to me that many that I haven't already seen (and in better quality) I'm not saying they aren't his photo's but he must have released them before or got them off the original photographer?

I certainly wouldn't pay $900.00 for them, I might be a bit cynical these days, but these guys make a habit of selling Elvis related items that if added up collectively would be enough to fill a warehouse

If he has pictures autographed by Ann Margret -snip - be worth a whole lot probably more than what he's asking for.

Marty said that Anne's signed photo is for sale, too, if you have a heavy wallet (in case anyone wants to know).

Just seems like to me that he bought most of his pictures at the same place I bought mine!! Look closely at those pictures. Such a rip-off but not surprised coming from Lacker the Slacker!

Actually her autograph really isnt that valuable.Coming from Lacker doesnt add value at all to it.

At $100 each on the $3000 Buy-It-Now option?

I doubt it.

I once sent a pic of Ann-Margret to her to autograph for me and she signed it ... for nothing!

No AM pic is worth that much; not even most Beatles pics would go for that price.

Well, regardless of who buys them, it is interesting to watch and see how much they wind up selling for. :hmm:

I do agree though that anything coming from Marty needs to be independently authenticated. I have seen many Elvis things advertised on eBay that are supposedly authentic that come with a signed letter from Marty as the "proof" of authenticity that look highly questionable to me.

Oh well, still interesting to watch... :goggles:

Does anybody know exactly what Ann Margret's autograph would be worth?
Also autographs by the 4 Beatles during their Beatle days?

The Beatles would be a tad higher.I believe that goes higher than an Elvis autograph.Elvis' autograph really isnt that expensive IMO if you consider how iconic he was.Elvis signed tons and tons of stuff. That always helps to hold value down.

Marty does seem to have an inexhaustible source of items for sale.
Whether it's another box of signed VHS copies of All The Kings Men, the latest 'official' Memphis Mafia jacket or 'his collection' of photos, the questionable element which all these items have in common is that they can be easily replicated. He can sell this set for hundreds of dollars and have another one just like it to sell next week.
He's effectively printing money, which in itself could be mildly admirable if it didn't always come with some pious tripe about how he doesn't want to make more cash than he needs to fix the roof etc.

Actually I`ve gone and banged a hole in the sitting-room wall while trying to hang a picture frame, the hammer just kind of went off at an angle and BOOM!..... anyone want to buy a photo of me taken with Santa Claus back in nineteen-hundred and eighty?...It`s really him...beard,red suit an` everythin`!!:xmas::xmas::xmas:

No way! You probably made copies!
What guarantee can you provide that it is the only such picture of Claus in existence? :hmm: I don't want to spend a fortune on a supposedly unique Santa photo, only to find another just like it on ebay next week, consequently lowering the value of that which I've purchased from you. :closedeye

Well I can`t very well prove that it is the only photo of Mr.Claus in existance..... but it is certainly the only known photo of the legendary red-suited hero with me in it. There is a small lump of toffee that became attached to the photo on the day(actually, the wrapper can be plainly seen in my top pocket in the photo) and in the middle of that toffee is a single white hair...yep,from the beard of the man himself. Also, being from nineteen-hundred and eighty there is no way that a family like mine living in Ireland could ever have afforded either the large-size glossy photo or the second copy, times were tough back then.
