We all know that Elvis didn't like most of his movies because of all the goofy storylines and songs he had to sing. But since he really got to act alot in Flamingstar do ya'll think that might have been one of his favorite movies? I think also in Charro he got to act alot without singing much. Oh was it true that Elvis wanted to be in some movies with Natalie Wood but the Colonel said no. Elvis Rocks Always Gerald!!

:P Yes, indeed he liked Flaming Star and I do as well. Elvis preferred the challange of a good part, a dramatic part, and he was very good at it. He could be funny, of coure he could sing, mnever a doubt there, but he didn't need to sing in the films..they were in his way to becomimng a great actor.
The Col. sure messed up a lot of great plans Elvis dreamed of.
And having said that, I may as well admit that he was good whatever he did.
Flaming Star is my favorite and coincidentaly he was 1/4 Cherokee in real life.
Me too.

Flaming Star was a good movie. It helped he had such a good cast of supporting actors around him.He also was lucky enough to have Siegel as the director. He would later direct the Dirty Harry movies among many other great films.

Flaming Star is a fine western and stands outright on its own merit. It has a great director, fine script, well-paced action, good photography and ELvis is surrounded by some very good actors. I think Elvis good have developed into a fine actor with roles like these.

Marlon Brando was suppose to star in Flaming Star so the script was well done (changed some for Elvis)
I think it shows the difference in quality of a picture when quality is used.... director, script, co-stars etc..............Elvis commited himself and rose in his performance-because he saw the level of quality around him. IMO

I liked Flaming Star and I also liked Charro. Probably Charro because he looked so different in a beard and I was surprised I liked it on him.

Flaming Star had a much better story line and I'm sure he liked it.

I don't think Charro was as strong acting wise as Flaming Star, though we could've got by without the silly song in Flaming Star.

Possibly being part Cherokee, makes me understand the song, and also love the song. I have a beautiful CFA registered Flamepoint himalayan that I have named for this song.
