I think as a teen he liked and admired Frank, but he did not was his idol, as Mario Lanza do was.

Roy Hamilton was a favorite Elvis singer that I learned to love because of Elvis.

I did like Mario Lanza when he first came on the scene. I liked a couple of Roy Obison's
songs, too. But, really I did not like any of the three that much. Before Elvis I was a
fan of country music.

of those 3 Mario Lanza was an idol of Elvis.

I don't think Elvis was really a fan of Frank Sinatra.

As for Roy Orbison Elvis might of appreciated his singing talents and enjoyed some of his songs but Roy was no idol of Elvis.

Elvis was the one that actually inspired Roy.

I thought Dean Martin had a big impact on a teenage Elvis as well? I would go with Mario Lanza, then maybe Frank Sinatra.

I'd say Dean, Frank and Lanza. Gee even when Elvis smiles he resembles to Dean Martin a bit. I really don't think though that he idolized Frank, he just simply acknowledged him as a great singer.

hard to choose, I've always been partial to Dean Martin, yet Roy Orbison
I love his "I drove all Night" and yes, there's Roy Hamilton - those voices
just do something to me.
No, I can't decide.

Dino :D

"Mr Smooth". He was so talented, funny, I love his music, he knew how to make people feel good. I loved to watch Ann-Margret and Goldie Hawn interact with him, just the looks on their faces, you could tell what a great person he was (besides his talent). Then, John Wayne - all around him loved every minute, just great (y)

Dean Martin-then Roy.
Dean Martin is just so smooth in his style-it melts out of his mouth-seems effortless.

I like Roy Orbison and Dino, but i know Elvis really liked Jackie Wilson and James Brown and I would say these are my preferred of artists he enjoyed...
