I'm 28..... but it seems like I've been in a coma for the past 5 years. Those years felt like months

I must say that I'm quite 'afraid' for becoming 30. I mean, I feel much younger and that new age puts a stamp on you. Well, it's more like society puts a stamp on 30.

Ha, i got that same problem, i'm almost 32...and some kid called me a old fool the other day, cause i said something to him, thats when i got that feeling, man i getting old now... but i feel like 18 :D
But it's still funny when people ask me what kind of music i like, and i reply: i like Elvis. Than the next question is, the guy is dead, why fan of a dead atist? i simply say: the man made the coolest and the best music in his living days, and today it still is one of the best music around, not to dated like the beatles or any other act from that period! And than they say: that they really like ALLC and Rubberneckin' and never tought he made that kind of music. They only know him from the ballads and the early songs, like, Jailhouse en Hound Dog ect..
I always try to give him a cd-r with the coolest music from him, like the '69 sessions. And we have a computer system in our reastaurant/cafe with lot of Elvis music ( specially for me) and play them some tunes, like: Stranger in my own home town, Only the strong survive, Polk salad annie (this one is cool..is the reaction). And the really are blown away with this songs..maybe they gonna buy some cd's after listing to this songs..
If they do that i'm always a happy man (y)
Have a good day, boys and girls..

Albert

Yeah, it's striking when people say what songs they know from Elvis. It's always the young Elvis. I believe there's a huge market to conquer for FTD/BMG/EPE when they would use much more of the post-1966 Elvis.

You hardly see pictures from after-1966 (besides sometimes pictures of '68 Comeback special, TTWII and Aloha). All the best-of albums are the same and always use pictures of Elvis in his twenties. But most of the new Elvisfans prefer the Elvis ?fter his twenties! So it seems like the new fans and EPE/BMG are on a different level....

Your right Albert, I?m 30 years old and I?ve noticed that to. All over sudden people started calling me ?Sir? and a few weeks ago some kinds from my neighbourhood called me a old man. It?s really embarrassing and incorrect.
Perhaps you need to invest in some "Oil Of Olay" Unchained? ;)

I lose. I'm 19. I'll turn 20 on May 4th. But I feel like I'm been on the brink of 20 forever...19 has been the longest year of my life. Most tramatic too. I actually had a mild heart attack...I think I've been sick just about all year. Woo-hoo...hopefully 20 will be better.

I've been a fan of Elvis since I was 9, really. He's been floating in and out of my life for years but I became a bigger fan when I was 18. So it took me 9 years to find out who he was and 9 years to appreciate it lol :)

Stacy-

I hope 20 is much better for you than 19 has been. The more into Elvis you get, the better off you'll be. ;) I wish I had known the things at 19 that you know.

That was actually the age at which the Elvis fan in me was awakened. (y) What a long, strange trip it's been. Sorry--wrong forum! :P

I'm 38, but who's counting? :D

I've liked Elvis' music since, let's say 1975, 1976.

At that time I had a childhood sweetheart. After Elvis had past away, one day we put our money together and bought Elvis In Concert.
I was "blown away" by that 2001 intro and See See Rider and the very next week I went back to the record store and bought the Aloha album...

Well, needless to say, that after that I really became a fan!

Hi Pam! Welcome! I just love all the YOUNG Elvis fans. I just think they're great! It just makes me so happy to see more and more of the youngin's fall in love with Elvis and his music and they were'nt even here when he was alive. I think that is a testiment to how special they are as well as Elvis' power to continue to reach people! It just warms my heart. I am, by the way, 43. Don't know how I arrived here so fast! I remember, like it was yesterday, being a teenager. It seems like since I've had to start working about 6 years ago that time just FLIES by so much faster than before. Life seem to revolve around work and I hate it. I don't feel FREE to enjoy life. Have just discovered you all and all this Elvis stuff out there, so that has brought a lot more to my life lately and for that I am thankful.
