Hey everybody!
I don't know if any of you members drive a car yourself.. but I suppose it's more important than fruit and vegetables and just as important as smoking cigarettes. Well, if you're like my father that is. He owns a Ferrari bought with my blood.
Anyway, I recentlystumbleduponanarticlewhichmentions Elvis drove a Ferrari.. Oh darn, have I been on those uppers again?
The article is in German, but I'll try to mention the most important things:

On October the 5th of 1976 Elvis flies to Los Angeles to spend some days with Linda Thompson in her new apartment. In Hollywood he buys a used black Ferrari 308 GT4 for 20.583 dollars. It is mentioned he also meets private detective John O' Grady who advises him to be more active trying to prevent "Elvis, What Happened" from.. happening!
Forty-two days after ordering his car (another jungle room session had taken place in the mean time), the vehicle is brought to Graceland on November the 16th by a Ryder Rental Truck, licensed 1-DA 482 (the Ferrari, that is).

Elvis was supposed to enjoy speeding, but what's the point in trying to arrest him? Police officers who reasoned with him were probably more interested in Elvis and his car rather than delivering a fine.
I also read that Italian fans came to see him in 1972 and when asked what he would appreciate from that country, it was a Ferrari. A few years later he got it!

It's good to have a guy like Elvis drive the car. I'm a member of the Ferrari bulletin board, as I understand racing to such a degree. A person without a driver's license or car is able to give some insight in technical and strategic matters.

I'd only recommend Ferrari not to have people such as my father or the Dutch prime-minister drive these cars, if they can prevent it. I feel they belong walking behind the butt of a horse as close as possible, that's where they belong!
I only copied hysterical.. historical facts from sources on the internet, so if there are some flaws, don't send me to jail for it..
