Let's pretend that you are the big brass running EPE. And you were going to put together a cd of Elvis singing duets. What would be the track list and what entertainers, living or dead, would you be pairing up with Elvis' on such a CD.

I'm thinking something along the lines of Elvis' Christmas Duets album that was released last year. How would you make a better CD and who would you include?

Just pick your favorite songs and who it is you would like Elvis to sing with on this make believe album.

Do You Know Who I Am? (Elton John)
Suspicious Minds (Bono)
It's Now Or Never (Paul McCartney)
If I Can Dream (Jon Bon Jovi)
American Trilogy (Springsteen)

Well that's a start. I might work out more after a good night's sleep lol.

Not sure if this thread will kick off but I'll give it a go anyway. It might prove interesting. :D

Good idea, but, for me personally, once Elvis has sung a song, it's 'his'. Nobody can sing it the same, sorry!!!
Also I like to hear his voice on his own, not mixed with someone else. I bought the Christmas cd, it was ok, played it once, put it on the shelf and not played again.

I have to agree with you here. I prefer my Elvis neat!!! Nothing mixed or stirred in....

I didn't buy the Christmas Duets CD.
Watched the Viva Las Vegas show last year or so where a variety of current artists covered his songs - Faith Hill, etc. I enjoyed the show and understood the marketing push to reach a new and younger audience. But in the end, Elvis is Elvis........the thrill just isn't there with the others.

I think the only duet I have paid for was the download of Lisa Marie's collaboration with her father on In the Ghetto.

:D

Yeh, In the Ghetto is different. It's her and her Dad. Beautiful!!!!

Have to agree, once you hear Elvis sing a song, regardless of whoever sang the original - he makes every song his own!

lol. Well looks like it's unanimous that Elvis is best left solo. I didn't actually buy the Christmas Duets cd either, mainly because I didn't like the selection of artists picked to sing with him. :)

A good duet would be Elvis and Ray Charles singing "Always On My Mind".

The best duet is Elvis singing with Elvis, like in 'Singing Tree' LOL
