Hi
i was just wondering if anyone has also though that it might be nice to have the Gold Lame suit also in the jumpsuit section? I've often thought about. I guess i thought about it because i think of the Gold Lame as his first 'stage suit'.

I know it is dedicated to jumpsuits but it also has some exceptions like the Blue two piece and the brown suit he wore in 69.

I wasn't sure where to post this thread, sorry if it's in the wrong place

I think the Gold Lame suit would be a fitting addition to the Jumpsuit section.
As you said, it was his first and best recognized stage clothes from the
beginning.(y)(y)(y)(y)(y)(y)(y)

YES! (y) I agree that it should be highly noted as an Elvis trademark suit but it's not a Jumpsuit.
Then again so aren't the two piece suits he wore on stage.

Definitely a great idea hounddog!!! (y)

Although technically not a jumpsuit, I would say that it is definitely a pre-cursor to the jumpsuit and should take its place in the jumpsuit section!!! ;)

Please Matt if you could, include Elvis wearing the gold lame jacket with the black pants and shirt. I never did like the whole gold lame suit together and apparently neither did he.:)

I agree Diane about the black pants and shirt.

Yeah, but for history sake, we should probably include at least a couple of full-suit photos I would think... :hmm:

I agree...it's a classic. I just prefer the jacket and the black pants and shirt. All gold was a bit much.:)

I agree with you 100% Diane....I much prefer the gold jacket with black pants instead of the all-gold suit. I was just saying that we should add a couple of all-gold suit shots just for the sake of history!!! ;)

I love the whole suit look, I've always thought it was so cool. I remember the first time i saw a photo of Elvis in it and thinking no one else could wear that and look so cool in it.

I think you have to include pics of him in just the jacket and black pants as well cause it's no different than the various shirts he wore with his two piece white suit in Vegas in 1972, or jumpsuits with different belts.

I think the story about the Col telling Elvis to not get down on his knees in the lame suit because the gold flaked off is so funny.:D

I agree, although Elvis made the all gold suit look fabulous!

And now I'm wondering, for the '68 Comeback - did the designer make another all Gold suit for Elvis? Or just present him with the sketches, only to have Elvis firmly reject the idea?
