I'm Marla's granddaughter Kelsie. Sadly my grandmother passed at the end of June of this year. I was going through some of her things with my mom and came across this site.

It's Kelsie again. Thank you all it means alot to me and my family. A few things about my grandma, she always loved Elvis and made sure that we all knew at least who he was. But more than that grandma was always there when we needed her. Growing up she always lived around the block from my family. Both my parents worked so after school my sister and I would to her house until my mom or dad got home. She would teach us how to make cookies, help us with our homework, tell us fairystories, and without any doubt my sister Jamie and I knew that she loved us more than anything. Because of her I became a fan of Elvis as well. When my parents divorced Jamie and I lived with our mother and we moved to a whole new town. But everytime we visited dad a visit to grandma was on the list of things to do. Grandma maybe more than my parents in some ways shaped me into who I am today and I've taught my children many of the same lessons that she taught me including a love for Elvis. But more importantly a love for everyone.
