good wishes are wanted.:D

remember the opening scene in charro in a cantina, where jesse wade is looking for tracy? and then the bad guys show up and take jesse away? well...

please meet jon patino. i was lucky to do so in 2007. my club was hosting a candlelight ceremony at the hilton statue here in vegas on aug 15th. jon contacted me after seeing our information in the paper and said, i was with elvis in charro. i said, oh! that is one of my favorite movies!

when i met him and he showed me the picture, i was pleasantly shocked and exclaimed that i was thrilled to meet him!
jon has been very happy to join 'the elvis family'. he had told us some nice stories about elvis.

recently, jon has been recovering from a mini-stroke. he has been in hospital care for several months now. he is hopeful of going home soon.

well, the purpose of my message is to tell you that jon would love to hear from elvis fans!!! i made him a simple website so fans could sign the guestbook. jon's birthday is coming, july 21.

i am going to print out all the messages and give him a notebook of them all. jon is not on the internet, but he thinks this idea is fantastic. he looks forward to reading your greetings.

pass this on to your elvis friends. i know this will make jon so happy!

stop by...

thanks.

ps-if you have any difficulties, let me know. this my first time setting up a guest book.

hello everyone,

jon had a pretty good birthday on July 21. i missed seeing him in the morning because he was away getting a medical treatment. viva las vegas club members steven and robin were there in the afternoon and stayed a long time visiting with jon, opening presents and reading all the greetings. jon was very happy to get my 'party in a bag' and the gifts brought by steven and robin.

jon was most happy about the notebook i gave him with a few pictures and all the greetings sent by elvis fans via the website. thank you so much for your messages. it really made his day to know he is so well thought of by the 'elvis family.'

jon wasn't feeling well due to the treatment, but he had a good little 'party' that afternoon. i talked with him the next day and he told me he did eat the cake! :) and he also personally thanked me for the bag with all the goodies, and especially, the notebook. i'm so glad i could do something like that for him. it meant so much.

jon is now living in a nursing home. (it's a really nice place!) he is dealing with diabetes and the affects of a mini stroke. but his spirits are good and he appreciates being remembered. we here in las vegas are doing our best to do what we can for him. i have a lot of appreciation for barry--his close friend, robin&steve, and pete vallee for all the things they have done.

what more can be done? well, jon just LOVES hearing from people. and, i am happy to share with you how you can participate.

i will revamp the website a little, but you still can stop by and send your best wishes via the guestbook. periodically, i will print them out and give them to jon.

i heard from steven today.
jon was taken to a hospital here in vegas. he is in the cardiac unit.
jon's blood pressure dropped dangerously low and so he was ambulanced out.

that's all i know ...

i guess all you can do now is keep jon in your thoughts and prayers....

and, i suppose i need to suggest that you do not mail anything to the nursing home for awhile. i have no idea what would happen to your mail. right now, things have to be taken day by day.

feel free to post at the website, tho. i can take care of those messages easily.

:(

jon has been moved to a rehab facility he has been at before. i will be visiting him next week. at least he is doing better and out of the critical care unit!

if you leave a message at his website, i'll be printing those out and taking them with me when i go. would love to hear from you. :)
