http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e160/selenauno/th_6hh.gifdoes this footage really exist:blink: and EPE are holding it back:doh:
Perhaps Elvis said something in the pool interview if indeed it happened that touched something whether it be about his life or how he felt with himself at that time, with him dying just a month later in August and EPE felt it should be hidden awayhttp://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e160/selenauno/th_icon_e_surprised.gifhttp://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f137/bellaselena/icon_sad.gifur thoughts peeps:lol:

I believe this to be true, Graceland was his sanctuary, a place of refuge and protection for him. Only time I remember was when he came home from the Army and they filmed him in the office, the famous interview.

The Interview of Elvis at the poolside excists, together with footage of Elvis around and in Graceland. Why EPE doesn't release it? Because Elvis is dead, and they still want to have a lot of money. So all the material that is still in the vaults are spread over a whole time period. Why we had to wait so long for the Aloha, special edition and the Comeback? Because they spread them over time. Oh yeah, there is also a plan, that if the visitors rate of Graceland is becoming under the 50% lost in the future, they will open the second floor.. to get more visitors.. I know about this plans..

The Interview of Elvis at the poolside excists,
Good Lord, I am sick to death of this ridiculous myth being spread around.
:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:
The interview DID NOT HAPPEN.
Clowns like Christian M have this and other fanciful ideas listed on their websites as being in "private hands", and gullible fans believe it without a shred of evidence.
Oh, and if you're reading this Christian, we're all still waiting for that special "professional footage" you said would blow us all away in the spring. That is to say, last spring! What a surprise, nothing has surfaced ... again!
FACT: Elvis didn't give a stuff about the special, and specifically told The Colonel and the producers he didn't want to have to do anything special for it. Hence, all they filmed was two shows, plus background stuff from other venues.
The newspaper article shown here is the only reference to the poolside interview, and is an example of a journalist running with a story without confirming al the facts.

I seriously doubt EPE is holding back any major cache of unreleased film footage.Escpecially the poolside interview. The time for big money when it comes to Elvis has since passed when it comes to these things.Every year that goes by the monetary value is going with it.It's just hardcore fans that care about these things anymore.
I believe this to be true, Graceland was his sanctuary, a place of refuge and protection for him. Only time I remember was when he came home from the Army and they filmed him in the office, the famous interview.
Remember Elvis was a private person.
This is a key point. No way Elvis was going to have a film crew wandering around Graceland interviewing him.One of the reasons he did the special was that it required no effort on his part.Just do your regular act. That's it.Being interviewd wasnt part of the deal.

hmmm:hmm: After reading everyone's comments and doing a bit more research then I have I think my opinion has changed because if Graceland was Elvis' sanctuary and not a whole lotta people were allowed to breach it.
Ive never heard of this footage either.
Can someone answer a question for me. Before Graceland was opened to the public in the eighties, fans were allowed up to the gravesite. Were they charged? (before Vernon died)

When greedy Priscilla and the other executors got involved that's when Graceland was all about money and became a business.
Thank you. I didn't think so and we went there a few months after Elvis died, but I was too young to remember how we actually got in. I just remember the pool and Uncle Vester.

I don't think there is footage because if it was it would've been included during the broadcast of EIC.
When it pertains to Elvis if something was shot it doesn't remain unreleased.
I remember seeing EOT and their was footage of Vernon and Elvis riding horses at Graceland.
The filmakers of EOT were allowed to shoot at Graceland and it was a part of the documentary.

Don't feel bad for not knowing cause you know now buddy.
It isn't a fact yet but a website listing every footage filmed on Elvis, stated that CBS filmed an interview with Elvis by his swimming pool. There has been no evidence of this not even photos of the interview. My guess is that if there ever was such an interview it was done the same time Vernon was filmed in June.

Well I have been a fan since 62-so I guess I am a die hard fan-but I do not know this to be true but I know of the "rumor"
I do not recall any mention in 1977 of CBS crews having recently been at Graceland in any of the old magazines and fan club newsletters I have from back then. I can tell you we may not have had the internet-but fan club newsletters carried any information of consequence back then and of the 3 clubs I was a member of none mention any filming at Graceland-the future special is mentioned and the filming in Rapid City and Omaha is mentioned as a "start" for the upcoming tv show. But there is no mention of any filming an interview at Graceland with Elvis. That is exactly the kind of info that was in fan newsletters.
Also EPE may have total control of the footage today.... but in 77 CBS contractually had the right to put together what ever show they wanted for their broadcast-if they had any footage of Elvis in interview I have no doubt they would have used it for their broadcast.
I understand your point about Elvis maybe saying something or acting strange and that might be a reason for it not being aired....but...thats exactly the kind of thing that would have ended up in The Enquirer, or the Star if there was any hint that Elvis had given an interview and it had been deemed to strange to air-they would have got a transcript or a copy one way or another (that was their bread and butter-as the coffin photo shows)
but there was no mention of it in any tabloid in 77 after he died that I can recall.
I would give this "rumor" a less than 2% chance of ending up true.
rocknroll

Unfortunately newspaper articles often get things not quite right-or totally off base-as do TV newscasts, and radio newscasts.
Print is worse because after its printed-you can not collect all the copies and burn them. If they retract or correct-someone still has the incorrect information.
If I posted every newspaper article-which had prime facts completely wrong-this forum would be tied up for months.
I could post hundreds of incorrect info on the Kennedy assasination from even weeks after the murder.

You may be right. I believe we have the CBS out takes now because of the movie, THIS IS ELVIS. I'm just guessing here that when they went into the vaults for footage someone made a copy. Then when they were remastered the second time. I know I have 3 versions of THIS IS ELVIS. The CBS footage looks different on all three. The original they adjusted the contrast and it made the film look grainy. The video release it was clear and then the added footage version had added Love Me and it looked even sharper.
I found this new YouTube video and I Believe if Elvis was interviewed it was probably the day when Vernon was filmed when they cut into Elvis singing, Can't Help Falling In Love @ 0:25. They are saying it's June 22, 1977. The day after the Rapid City show. but they show Vernon walking around Graceland.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Elvis introduced Vernon on June 26th not unless the Vernon interview was at the hotel room or backstage but still it's the day after Rapid City.:hmm:
Or the Graceland shots where done after the tour and they filmed Elvis the same day at the pool.

If i'm to run with your theory that Elvis made some off hand remark - it is possible to edit that out.
To my knowledge not one of the guys has mentioned a TV crew filmed Elvis at Graceland for the CBS special.
The CBS Special is out on bootleg - it is a stretch to imagine that as the shows made it out; an interview with Elvis ( which would be the most interesting piece of footgage ) didn't.
Bottom line it is much more plausable that the Newspaper was wrong, and that the guys and bootlegers didn't forget about this footage.
As for an EPE conspiracy to keep it hidden :lmfao:

If it ever does see the light of day as an offical release; unless they create a digital interview at the pool they will have no footage as not one shred of evidence bar a Newspaper report confirms it's existence.
None of the guys remember it. It hasn't surfaced on bootleg unlike the rest of the EIC footage; the newspaper does not give a name to the source who told them the footage exists......hence it's more likely it doesn't rather than it does.
A film crew lumbering up into Graceland and conducting an interview with EP by the pool is not something people would forget.
Aloha and the 68' were Broadcast - why wait so long for a special edition...rights on songs has a lot to do with what you can and can't put out.
I have an Aloha DVD missing songs and a 68' Comeback missing songs before the Special Editions came out. That wasn't because EPE wanted to deprive fans, it's because publishers wanted more money than EPE were willing to pay.
As for the upstairs of Graceland to open up.
Graceland is a landmark - they can't go tinkering with the house, fire and safety prevents them from opening it - in order to they would need to alter the house which they now can't.
Besides I don't assume Lisa would like thousands of people looking at the exact spot her father died.

Who knows, maybe he was slurring his speech so much that it made the September 1972 Aloha interview look straight as an arrow.
For all we know, It might have been destroyed. I wouldn't put it past Priscilla she did destroy all them pictures & movies Elvis took of her in bed. Billy Smith gave them to her right after he died. I don't know if I would have giving them to her..lol

Well since the idea of more unreleased footage is only rumor-its a mute point at best. If they have it at area 51-perhaps Elvis, John Kennedy, and others are getting a good laugh watching it!;)

If it does exist and I'm not saying it does, EPE will probably never release it because of the ridicule the Elvis of 77 receives. You only have to look at some of the comments on youtube during that time to hear how spiteful people really are.

I believe this to be true, Graceland was his sanctuary, a place of refuge and protection for him. Only time I remember was when he came home from the Army and they filmed him in the office, the famous interview.
Remember Elvis was a private person.
I totally agree my friend. Graceland was a place for Elvis to get away from the world and not be "Elvis". So to have a film crew invade that privacy does not make sense. Elvis loved his private time at Graceland, which is why few people were even invited to come to Graceland.
From every bit of evidence written about his last months alive-no one has ever included in a book or interview that Elvis was filmed by CBS beside his pool in the weeks before he died.
