"My Years With Elvis and The Colonel" new book by Charles Stone:'Praytome Publishing' have announced their next book release to be "My Years With Elvis and The Colonel". Their press release says....
>> While everyone is talking about the recently announced FTD release and the upcoming Multi-Media-Box-Set by Bud Glass Productions and Praytome Publishing, we want to present to you the final artwork for the next Praytome Publishing release:
You are not familiar with the name 'Charles Stone'? Well, you have heard of Elvis Presley and Colonel Parker, haven't you?
Charles Stone - Concert West - Management Three - organisation of the tours: these terms all go together, and without them the Elvis Presley Tours in the 70's would not have been the same.
We are happy to announce that Charles Stone has decided to share his memories of his years with Elvis and the Colonel and that he has chosen 'Praytome Publishing' for this project. Click here for more info. (http://www.praytome-publishing.com/htm-data/news/englisch/news.htm)
Soon you will learn more about the book's content, as well as the release date.
More details about the FTD & Praytome project "Dixieland Delight" and about what we mean when we talk about a "Multi-Media-Box-Set" will be available next week.

Thanks Franny. I've never heard of Charles Stone so I don't know if I would be interested in his book or not. He might or might not have a different slant on how things were when Elvis was on tour.

I've heard of him but it wasn't until recently. I think he didn't have much of a personal connection to Elvis but more the Colonel. He was one of those behind the scene guys that put the tours together. I'd be surprised if he really knew Elvis.

Agreed, the book will probably be more slanted in favour of the Colonel :hmm:

I've heard of Charles Stone over the years

He worked at Concerts West with Jerry Weintraub and Tom Huelett then became a friend of Colonel Parker's
I think Parker was the godfather to his children

He's done a few interviews with Elvis websites over the years
He was mainly responsible for helping Jerry Weintraub and Tom Huelett set up the tours for Elvis and many other artists.

From what I can gather, Charles worked with Concerts West 'behind the scenes' and was more closely in contact with Parker than Elvis. I don't suspect there will be any 'new revelations in the book other than what we all know already.

Correct, Brian. He never really had any (what we would call) 'close and personal contact' with Elvis so, basically, the book probably won't be anything new for us other than how the tours were arranged/setup and security measures were taken when Elvis was on tour.
