I am going to start....
This year in January I met Jerry Schilling when he was touring as special guest with the TCB Band in Austria. Here's the 'conversation' we had ;):
T: Hi Jerry, have you already seen Elvis' new grandchildren?
J: Oh yes, they are wonderful! I spent Thanksgiving and Christmas with them!
T: That's great, thank you!
;):D;):D;)
Curious to hear about your experiences!

Since Elvis died I have met most of them again. I've also met Priscilla and Lisa Marie. And, yes, they were both extremely nice.

Rosie, it would sadden me to think that you were one of the wide-eyed young hopefuls who he exploited with empty promises of an introduction to his son.

I've met Jerry also and Joe Esposito twice.
First time I met Joe he was 'off-duty' in his capacity as a professional Elvis-associate but extremely gracious and accommodating. The second time was in a situation where he was hanging out with Elvis fans and providing autographs but he was visibly exhausted and seething with resentment :lmfao:
I'm unable to reveal the details of my encounter with Jerry on a public forum
I also met various TCB Band members and, of course, Priscilla

That's how Joe explains his use of the phrase too.
Funnily enough, this 'multiple best friend' phenomenon isn't exclusive to Elvis. I find that when almost anybody dies there are legions of people who seem adamant that they were best friends with the deceased.

:lol:No, quite the opposite as a matter of fact. I was with my parents in Vegas, who were almost the same age as Vernon, so he was very much the gentlemen.

I had the kind of parents that all my friends loved to be around. Whenever there was a school trip my friends would always ask if my parents could be chaperones.
I know that most teenagers go through a stage of not wanting to be around their parents, but that was never the case with me. They were truly my best friends...very fun people.:D(y)

I do have some pics scattered about.Al was kind enough to pose with me for some photos. All I had with m,=e for him to sign was aprogram for the event we were attending. He signed Al "Elvis Has Left The Building" Dvorin.I thought that was pretty cool.He probably signed that a million times ,but it still seemed special.I have that and a photo of us together framed on my wall.

My wife describes Vester pretty much the same way.Nice guy that wanted to talk youre ear off.He drove her up to Graceland and around the grounds in 76.He pointed to Elvis' bedroom when they got to the front of the house. He said if Elvis wasnt sleeping he would have asked Elvis to meet heR.I think it was the next day or so when she snuck in the back of Graceland and met Lisa,Linda and Elvis.

It's amazing how permissive and kind Elvis was to his fans. Imagine having unknown people inside your property taking a ride with your gate guard. It seems to me all the family were very humble and nice people and understood how much all those things meant to them. I guess your wife felt like a kid in a candy store

Linda and Lisa walked up and found my wife behind Graceland where the trailers were. They were not upset at all. They were very friendly. They only asked she didnt take pictures of Lisa. They both signed for autographs and talked a bit.Lisa's cousin Joey came up and signed also.Within a few minutes Elvis drove up on his way out of Graceland and stopped for a second.Something like that couldnt happen today with a superstar. When it was over they just had a guard walk with her until she left the back gate.

No, I guess that could not happen today either, your wife was a lucky girl. Anyway I think that used to happen because the way Elvis and his family were too, I've read stories on how his mother gave lemonade to the fans standing at the gate of Audubon Drive and Vernon showing Elvis' room to some fans.
