Mae West and Elvis

I recently read a new book on Mae West by a person who worked for her in her later years and they claim Mae West told them she had quite a bit of contact with Elvis and that he had wanted her in his movies and had told her he would try to get them to write parts for her????
I know I have read West was considered for the part in Rousabout which ended up going to Barbara Stanwyck but never heard about any others.
Anyone else ever hear of any of this?

It seems like Elvis and Mae West stories have a familiar ring to them, but for the life of me I can't remember what they were.:blush:Another Sr. moment I guess!!:lol::lol:
