If ftd put out an Elvis album with his 70s music and original version but,
with out the over dubbed sound.
like on the "love letters" album they had "If i were you" haveing this version with out any overdubbs. like horn's and string's out of the original recording's.
i know we have out-takes, but to have a good undudded version would also be great to own.
so would you get this cd, if ftd put this out.
i know i would. (y)

If you mean something along the same lines as the 1979 - 1980 "Our Memories of Elvis" vinyl releases (with all of the back-up removed) ................
I'd have to say .............. "No."
IMO, those particular albums were a blatant gimmick.
I don't want to see the FTD label taking this road, ............ there is plenty of truly "unreleased" material to choose from.

They can do this, put out the original album and bouns tracks with undubbed
masters and out takes.
this would make a great album.

I'd buy that.
Well, first of all, I think that is the kind of thing we can expect from some of the Deleted Albums series--that last type of release you described, that is.
But I'd be interested in undubbed material in general, for a couple of reasons.
The first is that a lot of the great alternate takes we have heard in fantastic quality have made many think that a particular alternate take is superior to the master. In some cases, I think that is true, but in many I believe it's a matter of the master in fact being the best choice, but it hasn't been presented as well (undubbed, not compressed to death, and in A-1 quality), so we're comparing apples and oranges. And being likely the best studio performances, those masters deserve that kind of treatment.
The second, which I have already basically implied here, is the simple fact that most of the overdubs were overdone--to the detriment of the finished product.

Curtis -
This, I would buy -------> and FTD is already kind of doing this very thing with the movie soundtracks (as discussed on another of your threads, .......... I have been pleased with them all).
Bottom-line: As long as there is truly unheard material on them, .......... I'll buy them all (and have).

I would love to have all original 70's albums released as 7" FTD's. All masters in excellent sound, along with outtakes and stunning packing (like the soundtracks). I think those releases will be better sold than the soundtracks.
Just look at how great the fan reactions were towards the FTD re-release of the 'recorded live in Memphis' album.
I prefer the re-release of all 70s album that way, than any 'normal' FTD release with a concert or liveouttakes.

The next 2 albums that BMG should release and that are so long overdue are the following (with upgraded sound/mix):
Stax 73 sessions complete CD
Nashville 70 & 71 sessions complete CD
Kind of along the same lines as the American 69 album Suspicious Minds that cam out a few years ago.

VERY COOL IDEAS TRELANE P.!!! (h)
Wasn't the Nashville Sessions idea being kicked around by FTD at one time? I thought something had been said (by Ernst perhaps?) that they were working on an album with some of the remaining Nashville '70's sessions...maybe I am just nuts!!!
As for the Stax Sessions....since RCA released outtakes from the Stax Sessions on their main album release RHYTHM & COUNTRY - ESSENTIAL ELVIS VOL. 5, I am not sure how quick FTD (or RCA for that matter) would be to release another album with this material on it (although I would certainly love to have it myself!!!)
CURTIS - I would have to say that I agree with you....I would LOVE to have an album of undubbed '70's material, similiar to the OUR MEMORIES LP's that The Captain mentioned in his post. BUT...I would hope FTD would release the TRUE undubbed recordings, instead of the obvious "fake undubbed" recordings that were on the original LP's in '79 & '80!
TCB!
