IMO this has to be one of the most underated songs of Elvis' career...I think it's just beautiful! The 1st time I ever saw Elvis, (08/17/1971), he sang this.

There are so many underrated songs it is unbelieveable. These types of songs are the ones that make new fans IMO. It shows more than just the usual Hound Dog, Jailhouse Rock, e.t.c.

This is one of my favorite Elvis songs! I just wish some of the people who are not into Elvis could hear some of these types of songs! Beautiful job Rosanne! It must have been something to see him sing this live!(y)

It is beautiful and I agree with Midnight, it's a shame these songs are not being played in the media, a non Elvis fan has no idea of what beautiful songs even exist:'(!
Thank's for the clip, Rosanne (y)!

I agree totally. This is a very beautiful song that's underrated. So many are underrated that show just how varied and beautiful Elvis' voice was. A few of f those are: Long Black Limousine, Women Without Love and Solitaire.

I agree, Rosanne.
When I see this song included in footage of Elvis's funeral (such as in the STAR 2-DVD set, "Love Coming Down"), it just immediately brings me to tears. :'(:'(
(Once again, you have done a fantastic job with this - as you do with all of your videos! Dang, I wish I was good at doing these kinda things!)

This song should have been a major hit when it came out!

Other that using "la" about 150 times, I love it!!! Always in my top five. "Trying so hard each time, each time I just can't make it. Feelin' fast vibrations and I just can't take it. Livin' from day to day, chasin' a dream..." THose have to be my favorite lines.

There are so many that should've been big hits but weren't, like almost everything in the studio in 1969 and 1970.

A very under-rated song.....The first time I ever heard it I thought there was just something very unusual about it as an Elvis song, and it actually took a while for it to grow on me...can`t explain it any better than that!.....Love it now though!

I agree that this is a very underated song! Such an incredible haunting melody that sticks in your head. Very beautiful...
That song always had a mystical quality to me-very surrene. I thought it should have been bigger when it came out.

Played this song for my wife, (who's not really a fan) and she loves it. So haunting. so out of character for Elvis, but beautifully done. It was also recorded around the time his marriage started to experience trouble.

I was away when this thread started but I agree, there's something special about this one. (y)
I've always liked the reflective chords and acoustic guitar line.

I totaly agree it is avery underated song, RCA should have done more with it at the time.Elvis at the time wanted it to be a title for an album in 1971.

It's one of those songs that you really "listen" to instead of singing along. I love watching him sing it, too. Seems to really feel it.
While on that subject....has anyone ever seen another artist so obviously passionate about their music as Elvis was? Not one comes to my mind.
But, I'd really like to hear some possible candidates!
