....write the book she talked about penning after her divorce from David Foster?
I would love to read it and am anxiously waiting.
Does anyone have any info on this?

There was talk of her doing a book back about 3 years ago but since I haven't heard anymore about it it's doubtful she was actually writing one or will write one.

I have also wondered about this and have not heard of any updates about her writing a book...
There was suppose to be one out around the time of Elvis' 30th anniversary  and then I heard last summer and now it just seems like it's not going to happen...

I had read somewhere that the publishers wanted dirt on Elvis and she wasn't willing to go that route. She decided against writing the book.

I just read an interview with Jeanne Lemay on classicbands.com and she was asked if Linda has written a book or will write one
Jeanne said no not yet and said she may never write one because Linda is very busy.
I wonder what Linda is so busy doing?
we havent heard from her in over 2 years and it would be nice to hear from again.
I for one would welcome a book from her dirt and all
I think it has potential to be a great and interesting book, to bad it will probably never be written.

Good point. If she writes about only the "good" things she will get hammered and accused of "sugarcoating"...if she writes about the drugs and such everyone will say "been there and done that." But......I would like to hear more from her about nearly being blown off the toilet!(y)

I have a feeling that contrary to popular belief that they all do it for the money , Elvis books in general , don't sell that great anymore. Its probably not as easy as she thought to get a book deal with the dollar amount she was expecting in this economy. Plus it can take years to write a book if you do it yourself.

anybody that tells you they didn't write a book for the money or at least partially for the money is lying.
I don't know if Elvis books ever sold greatly
I know Elvis What Happened, Priscilla's, Albert Goldmans did and Peter Guralnicks books but after that i'm not sure if any Elvis books were big sellers.
I'm sure if Linda Thompson does get around to writing a book she wouldn't expect it to be a big New york times best seller.

I know what your saying though Sonny West's book had about 5 or 6 things about Elvis that I didn't know before.

Yes, I'm sure it's usually for the money..I just wonder why it was stated that her book would be coming out around Elvis' 30th anniversary and then nothing more was said about it...:hmm:at least if it was in the works, that would be somewhat of an update

I wish Linda would write a book. Even a short book with just some pictures would be great. If she did write a book, I would buy it.
I could swear I read an interview with Linda in which she said that she was working on the book with her brother, and just needed to finish it finally.
But I can't remember where, unfortunately.

30493Linda did write a book...sort of?:hmm:
In general the market for Elvis books has faded. His story has been told over and over again. It's been over 30 years so it's understandable.I would be first in line however to buy a book by LindaThompson, provided it was an honest account of her time with Elvis.I think she could offer details into his daily life that would be incredibly fascinating. Both good and bad.She was with Elvis at the most pivotal time in his personal life.A candid account of her time with Elvis would be a book you couldnt put down.

Linda's book is one I'd like to read, too. She is a lovely, caring, lady.

I'd love to read a book on Elvis written by Linda. She is one of my favorite people in the Elvis world. She speaks so lovingly about him that you can't help but love her.

I'd buy it too. I think the more 'versions' you read by different people, the more likely you are to find the truth, which is likely to be somewhere in the middle. I've found by reading books by the women in his life, MM, Larry, etc....,most people try to enlarge their own importance in his life. Unfortunately he is not here to disprove any of their stories.

I wonder if she`ll include the juicy details of how she saved him from drowning in a bowl of chicken soup that she has so generously shared before?
If she does write a book, this is one person who won`t be helping her out by buying a copy.
