I just finished watching "Flaming Star".
I really love this movie. The message in the movie, the truth of the movie, the sadness. Very touching and emotional, I'm a little lost for words.... I really enjoyed Elvis' acting, too. The whole cast were great. I'm going to watch it again, over the weekend.
I've always felt an affinity towards American Indians, the spirituality, a closeness, a pull, a love  lol ... I have a little drawing, and some beautiful jewellery, lol, which, strangely, suits me, too.:D I know why. ;)
Who else has thoroughly enjoyed "Flaming Star" besides me? :)

Flaming Star was one of Elvis' best films. Not only did Elvis do a good job,but the supporting cast around him was stellar. They were all seasoned pro's.A very good film. The director was Don Siegel. He went on to direct the first Dirty Harry film with Eastwood along with many other well known films. This is one of Elvis' films that non fans can even enjoy.

Me Kimmi.
It was maybe his best but one of his best for sure. A great cast, a great director and a unusual storyline. Maybe it's one of the first movies where the American natives were shown as human beings. Where they weren't the only ones to blame.

I've always enjoyed Flaming Star....this movie to me gets overlooked.Elvis shows just how fine an actor he truely could be.....I really loved the cast and story line.I think that this is one movie that Elvis was really happy with.

I've always love this movie too  altough the tragic end :'(
I like the story and the cast in general and I've always thought Elvis did a great job (y)
No doubt he was a wonderful "Pacer Burton" and I don't know if Marlon Brando at his place would have been a lot better than Elvis ;)

He also directed John Waynes last film, "The Shootist" which is a great final film for John Wayne-about an old gunfighter who is dying of cancer.
I agree that "Flaming Star" is one of Elvis's best films-and it has garnered more respect as a film (and a role for Elvis) as time has gone by and its given a second look by critics.

One of my favorites (Wild in the Country is another). Great cast and Elvis did a great job. Recently a non-Elvis fan friend told me she was watching it and how she was really enjoying it. I think it is good for anyone who would like a drama to watch.
