Looking good my friend (y)
So you think it is hard work :P
It`s **** hard Chris, at times when i work on my site, with an big picture update, and having my son all over me, my girlfriend yelling at me......bla bla bla... and i still sitting resizing pictures, i totaly forget what i do, it could have been Donal Duck pix i was working with, i dont see the pix, only what size i should have them made in.
Same goes for the reviews, a few days ago my review man "Gordon" got an mp3 version of the new Memory release "Gypsy Style" and last night i got the review in an email, i have been working on it today, it`s all ready to be uploaded right now, but i have yet to read it myself

But Chris, The new look are great, i like it :)
So keep up your good work CHAMP :D

Aside from the layout issues some very promising new content, enjoyed the movies area. After a visit to your website I guess now we know how you've had so many new avatars recently (y)

and yeah it was Newmain.htm not newmain.htm, darned case sensetive urls

Looking great! (y)

One advise: using frames is heavily disadvised (just read this (http://www.useit.com/alertbox/9612.html) site for example, or Google's website instructions).

9 out of 10 times google will send someone to just 1 page and not the whole frameset. So when someone visits your site, coming from Google (or any searchengine), he/she won't see frames, but only the lowerpage (the one with the content). And since the navigation is in the topframe (that the visitor doesn't have), he/she can't visit other pages on the site.

There are a few sollutions if you choose to keep on working with frames: place a link on the bottom to the page with the frameset (Newmain.htm). This way when people are stuck on the bottompage, the can reload the frames by clicking on that link. Also a link on the bottom (this page is in a frameset, click here to reload) can solve this.

Another option is to add a script to the page. As soon as a page is loaded outside the frameset (like with entering the site by Google), the page will be re-loaded but inside the original frameset.

Thanks Albert,

Now though you have me even more confused  I have just re-designed it for the second time :(

I think the easiest way would be to put a HOME link on the bottom of all the pages :hmm:

I have no idea about the script option..so that probably the best option......

That's a good option. It really helps you to keep the people on the site. Otherwise they can't navigate further through your site. You already have some good Google results (link (http://www.google.com/search?q=allinurl:+tcb-world.com/nightrider/&hl=nl&lr=&filter=0)) (y)

Thanks for the info Albert.....i have added a link to each page as you suggested....so hopefully that should solve that problem (y)

There is nothing wrong with using frames, all big companies in the world use frames. It speeded up your page a lot, and that?s bottom line! :P

No Unchained, you're wrong there... There's hardly any big company website that uses frames. Sure there will be a few, but those are the minority.

And the speed excuses is wrong also. All modern browsers are caching images. So as long as the mainbanner on a page is linked to the same image, the user don't need to load it everytime they visit a new page within the homepage.

And if you read all the information about submitting links to searcheninges, you'll see that those crawlers/spiders (like MSNbot, googlebot, etc.) disadvice to use frames.

Sites on frames:
taming the beast (http://www.tamingthebeast.net/articles/framesnoframes.htm)
html4.com (http://www.html4.com/mime/markup/php/standards_en/html_misuses_en/html_misuses_21.php)
webdevelopment.com (http://webdevelopment.developersnetwork.com/Articles.asp?Article=120) (not a small site)
designandcreate.com (http://www.designandcreate.com/articles3.php)
christian-web-masters.com (http://www.christian-web-masters.com/articles/web_frames-design.html) (yep, that site exists)

Just go to the websites of the biggest brands in the world, from sony to mcdonalds, from msn to google, from Amazon to MTV and from coca cola to Disney. None of those websites use frames. Should be convincing enough :D

But... using frames my be a good thing, as long as you keep an eye on all those disadvantages.
