Stranger in the crowd" use in new Coca Cola campaign

Here is a link to listen to Cee-Lo (Gnarls Barkley) singing "Stranger in the Crowd" for the new Coca Cola TV ad which will play during the Super Bowl. It is part of the new coca cola's "Open Hapiness" campaign. Too bad they didnt use Elvis version...

According to another fan site, this song was commissioned from Winfield Scott for Elvis.

This song will reap many, many dollars for Elvis Presley Music. A windfall for EPE.

Yeah, it is too bad they didn't use the Elvis version. It sounds so a lot better in my opinion, but, of course, we are biased.

Please dont' kill the messenger. I was only posting something that I read elsewhere. I think its great that Coca Cola choose an EP number for their commerical and EPE will profit from this choice. However, I think any song Elvis makes his own just doesn't move me when performed by another.

I have to agree with this comment. Elvis did something to songs that no one else could do.
