I've read somewhere that Elvis have these pictures being taken by a proffesional photograph and that it wasn't meant to be that these pictures would be available to the public.
Besides that, that set of pictures are among my alltime favourite Elvis pictures. He's looking extremely cool, happy and healthy. Just imagine that within a year or so he would be divorced.... the beginning from the end

Thank's Unchained and Kenny for sharing those photos!!! And thanks Ron for bringing this discussion up.
I had never thought about it... but now that I do :-D - you more often see Elvis friends wearing the necklace than Elvis. I wonder how many he himself owned but later gave to somebody else... Probably many!!! Is Elvis private necklace on display somewhere? Graceland?!

In partial answer to your question:
Graceland does not have a true "original" TCB Necklace of EP's.
I have heard that EP did not have one when he died. All evidence that I have found to date, supports this premise.
As with most of EP's jewelry (necklaces, rings, bracelets, etc.), ............. EP simply gave most of it away over the years.
The man was the epitome of GENEROUS.

On the dvd 200 cad"s,Elvis asked sony west for his TCB,and sony west said no (y) and he still has his org, necklace(then turns round and say"s that most of the MM sold there"s) :whistling:
That tcb/tlc stuff, was a great thing that Elvis came up with, and been giving or getting one,was a thing to keep, and to have memories of the day you were giving it, and should have been one to have for the rest of your days, but alas,a lot of the people that got them, sold them off,and that to me is sad.So 1 up for sony west?.

Sonny & Red are cool in my book.
Regarding MMM's selling off their TCB's, .......... yes, some have even sold their "originals" multiple times (if you get my drift).
It's funny, because, some of the generally more well liked MMM's are not always the most reliable as far as their word goes. Some of the more "hated" ones are, ironically, often quite reliable in their memories / words.
There is surely a lesson to be learned here ....... for all to think about more critically before rushing to judge some of those who were around Elvis.

Captain-
Do you know who may not have sold theirs?
I have seen Joe's, Charlie's and Patty's TLC they look original. Curious who may have not sold theirs.

Sorry, didn't mean to ignore your question(s) .......... sometimes I don't read all of the threads / follow-ups.
A number have held onto theirs.
They are neat items, but I'm honestly not one to get too excited about the TCB's / TLC's pre-owned by others - even if true "originals." In the strictist sense of the word, I don't view them as being "Elvis-Owned" (even those that may have come from EP's own neck). As a result, I don't think that they are worth what many would like to believe they are. In essense, you are buying MMM / Entourage items (JMO).
These types of items, IMO, can only have true meaning to the original recepient intended for. In fact, it saddens me to see many selling theirs.

Same goes for the touringclothes of the MM (the red jackets). I think they are nice to have, but aren't worth much to me since I'm a fan of Elvis, not Joe.
And besides that, how many times has Joe Esposito sold his own original jacket? I've read somewhere that there were many more jackets left after the tour and Joe wrote many COA for them as being worn by the entourage. Talking about having respect for the Elvisfans (n)

I, for one, have never understood those that are into those kinds of items. Zero appeal to me.

Unfortunately, there are lots of "left-over" items (surplus / replica material) that is being misrepresented so as to give the impression of "original" .............. which, in reality, is just semantic side-stepping with a play on the word "original."
One that comes to mind: Bonja has long been selling replica TCB Photo ID badges. Lots. Many of the original bearers of these badges still have theirs, yet "originals" are everywhere. There is even one variety that was "Made For" EP himself ....... yet never in EP's possession ----> has sold for around $1,000 USD in the past. Have seen a number of these. I guarantee you the people that buy them at those prices believe that they are purchasing a truly EP-owned-used item. EP never had one - period.
--------------------------------------------------------
Some MMM's are more reliable than others. I have not personally seen any multiple tour jackets or COA's sourced to JE. Some MMM's fluff-up the impression that some of their items were truly originally EP's ---> in such cases, knowledgeable collectors can detect. I can also tell you that a lot of the Jimmy Velvet material from some of his B&B Auctions was, in reality, MMM / Entourage owned items (not EP's). There are many examples, but I will leave at that.
I have had some direct contact / dealings with JE. In my experience, on more than one level, he's alright. Believe it or not, so is David Stanley, The Wests, & Hebler. Guess who isn't. Believe it or not, Geller, Hodge, Grob, & others. Go figure.
Nothing surprises me anymore.
