Tired?????? He sounded terrible, he might have been The King, but this afternoon in Hampton Roads he was not even worthy to be called a Prince.

I agree on Return to Sender, very enjoyable. And indeed the soundquality is indeed awesome. Thanks to this soundboard, we are able to hear how bad Elvis could sound when he had an off day!!!! I think if this was an audience cd, nobody would have noticed I guess.

But hey, Elvis was sick, he was tired. He shouldn't be on stage that day, but just listen to his people around him, and stay home to relax and heal.

Sorry just my opinion on this concert!!!

Well, you may be Dutch, so you've got particular conflicts with tradition and religion (doe maar gewoon dan doe je al gek genoeg?), but don't make negative remarks about Elvis!! No matter how tired he may have been, the quality of the voice wasn't gone. I like Hurt, America and Return To Sender from this concert. At least Elvis had the guts to face the crowd in his discomfortable state of being.

 He may be dutch, but definely not deaf! Elvis is in a bad condition and he does sound tired. His voice is all *** up, to be honest. The King seldom sounded that terrible as he did this evening. But Return To Sender is still nice to hear...

I agree with a few people on this CD,
I once owned the CD and I dont recommend at all buying It,
okay Return To Sender is the only reason to own it
but It Is, without a doubt, In my eyes the worst Elvis concert

and Im a huge Elvis fan

I'm in fact a Dutchman myself..! I just couldn't bear reading elvis1970nl's post. It was just a guess that he (elvis1970nl) might not think of Elvis as a King because he was sick (at the time of this particular concert). It is often popular & recommended to dislike kings in the Netherlands - why else would our Queen Beatrix say that there's no other nation to be found in the entire world so forgetful of tradition.

I think that Elvis will always be the King no matter what. What I meant with 'the quality of his voice' is that there is still some capacity left in him, although he's not running on all his 'cylinders', so to speak. Being tired and ill won't just destroy your vocal chords. Singing like Robert Plant does. That's what I'm trying to say...

Thank you very much for those covers, rockin! I also wonder if anyone has made some alternative artwork for this album?

Having just listened to this... I have to say that it is definitely not one of Elvis' best performances by a long shot but it's not dreadful.

There are good parts- Return to Sender, I Got a Woman, If You Love Me Let Me Know, Hurt and a few others but Elvis sounded so tired and unhappy at times. Love Letters I have to say I found it hard to listen to... that is not a healthy Elvis singing.

However, it is not so bad that I can't listen to it- I agree, even on a bad day Elvis could still put on a show. Whether it is good or not is totally subjective... I personally found it OK apart from Love Letters and the overall sense of Elvis? tiredness. But I still had fun listening to it... although every time Elvis opens his mouth, regardless of what he says/sings/does, I am compelled to listen and enjoy....
