Hi Melissa, :bye:
I agree with you, of course, with regard to these wonderful songs.
The realisation for me, has always been when someone else sings Elvis' songs, and it is then (not being a musician or vocalist) that I realise how incredible his voice, is.
:bye:

:hmm:song*heart of Rome*(y):notworthy
In a little while you're leavin'
Starting on the journey home
Soon I'll be alone, the one who loves you
La la la la la, somewhere in the heart of Rome
I'll make a wish in every fountain
Say a prayer that you'll return
Minutes I'll be counting
May the fire of love still burn
I'll keep your picture by my pillow
And pretend I'm not alone
Make believe that you are with me
La la la la la, in the heart of Rome
Suddenly the tears are falling
As we hear the whistle blow
Hold me very close before you leave me
La la la la la, somewhere in the heart of Rome
I'll make a wish in every fountain
Say a prayer that you'll return
Minutes I'll be counting
May the fire of love still burn
I'll keep your picture by my pillow
And pretend I'm not alone
Make believe that you are with me
La la la la la, in the heart of Rome
I'll make a wish in every fountain
Say a prayer that you'll return
Minutes I'll be counting
May the fire of love still burn
I'll keep your picture by my pillow
And pretend I'm not alone
Make believe that you are with me

I disagree. Even though Elvis had a great vocal range, I'm sure that there are/were singers (opera singers, specifically) who could go beyond Elvis's range. As far as non-operatic singers, I heard that Roy Orbison's vocal range was much larger than Elvis's was.

1. Where no-one stands alone.
2.The Lord`s Prayer (even if it isn`t a completely serious attempt).
3. Rags to Riches.
4.Bridge over troubled water.
those are the first ones that spring to mind for me,

I like "Walk On" a gospel. It was featured in Elvis by the Presley's, when they showed Elvis carrying Priscilla through the snow.

Elvis had a wonderful voice,to sing what wanted,it was a voice privilegiosa what have,to be able to sing from,RockŽn Roll,Country.Blues and as not Goapel,was the KING,but with the Gospel to be able to demostrate that was something more that a nice face,that to continue being THE KING,with an incredible potential.Was songs as;YOUŽLL NEVER WALK ALONE;HURT;AMERICAN TRILOGY;AND IF I CAN DREAM;

Peace In The Valley Requires Exceptional Phrasing And Voice Control. Elvis Shows Both In This Song. Good Vocal Range Means Being Able To Reach Different Levels. With This Song Elvis Uses His Voice Beautifully (high & Low) To Phrase The Lyrics. Gospel Music Is Very Hard Sing But Elvis Could Make It Look Easy!!

I agree Tony, i think what was amazing about Elvis was where his range fell he could get some real bass notes to some tenor notes. i can't find the article that i read that explained this but part of it is on
http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Talk:Elvis_Presley (just search for range to find the section)
