Are both these CDs from the same source - I know its the same concert - but does one sound better than the other. Is one an audience and the other from the video tape - I want to over dub new audio for the video and was curious which one to use -

i have a copy of 'as i leave you' and it is a soundboard, not sure about candid camera though

I also have both and prefer "As I Leave You". The "Candid Elvis On Camera" supposed to be a better one, but it was a big dissapointment when I received it.

The candid on camera is a soundboard and both cd's are from the same source.

Difference is that they are both differently mixed.

If I were you I wuld look around for the circulating DVD better even the video , there is a even better quality audio going round !

I suppose "As I Leave You " would be the one to go for...

On a side note: though both of the cd's seem to be taken from soundboards, the sound actually isn't that terrific on both of them.

I thought the sound on those was simply lifted from the video. I may be confused, but it seems like when I last played As I Leave You it sounded just like how it is on the CBS tapes, with Charlie Hodge up way too high in the mix.

I agree with Bobby....sounds to me like the audio on AS I LEAVE YOU has been lifted directly from the CBS outtakes, but I do have to say that CANDID CAMERA does sound a tad inferior to AS I LEAVE YOU, at least in my opinion! :blink:

bobby and mike are both correct, both releases are in fact taken from the infamous'cbs tapes' video. you can hear it in the way the sound is flat and kind of muffled. i would love to hear a really good soundboard of these two shows complete...... are you listening ftd :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: . have a great weekend.... simmerrocks (y) (y) (y)

ANOTHER TITLE TO ADD TO OUR "FTD" WISH LIST!!! ;) (h)

I agree with you simmerrocks that a true soundboard of AS I LEAVE YOU would be cool to have!! But, I have a feeling that this probably isn't up on the list of top priorities to be released by FTD. :blink:

But, we can dream.... :hmm: ;)

If we can't get both concerts on FTD, the complete Rapid City show plus the best of the Omaha tracks would be alright with me. (y)

I'd buy a real soundboard version of any of the two CBS shows rightaway. It's always nice to have a CD from a show that you have on tape or from which are many pictures and stories are available. It just gives you more of a 'being there' feeling.
