Looks like a baby or miniature Dachshund to me. Did he have one of those?

That's when he lived at 1034 Audubon Drive in Memphis in 56. He bought the house off of the royalties from his Sun records. That's not a camera Elvis is holding. It's a dog.

Maybe Rena had been sampling some Newfie Screech when she first saw the picture....and as a result got the dog and a camera confused.:blink::lol::lol::lol:

I see the dog and I see the leash but maybe just maybe Rena is right and the dog is being held against a camera behind it??? Sure wish this picture hadn't been cut off. I've seen it before and wondered the same thing.

Maybe the dog is one of those "under cover" cameras! If he is I want one because he is so cute!

Diane I think you are right. There may be a camera hidden behind the dog.

There's no camera in Elvis' hand. That is a dog with a leach. Besides it's too blurry to tell what he is holding in his other hand, but a camera from that era would be much bigger than whatever it is he's holding. Remember this was the 50's.

I do see the dog-in the other hand is what looks like a long lens with a cap on it. But it is blurred.
There were small cameras in the 50s, the Brownie camera comes to mind- my mother had one-it was fairly small. On the Ozzie and Harriet DVDs I have- the commercials for cameras show small still picture cameras and 8mm movie cameras. But that photo just does not give enough detail on what is in the other hand to know.

Is that a wheel of a toy (maybe a little bus)? :lmfao: It's the only thing that came to my mind. Can't think while Elvis looks so adorable.
