I know elvis was not always happy with the movies he made but which movie/s do you think elvis would reflect on and say he gave a good acting performance to be proud of?
I would say King Creole or Love me Tender? He gave great dramatic performances in both films.

King Creole was directed by Michael Curtiz who directed Casablanca. Of course it was his favorite movie... it wasn't dumb in any way and he could act like he wished to. But I think he enjoyed filming and he liked a few of them up to the mid '60s. Maybe Viva Las Vegas was the last one he really enjoyed making.

IMO as good as King Creole was I think he was most proud of Flaming Star the most because of his Indian heritage brought to the forefront of the movie. It meant alot to him personally.

Elvis is on record as saying King Creole was his favourite movie. He said this to many of his friends and family and it is mentioned in several books. I'm sure he liked Flaming Star a lot - as do most of us - but I don't think he was seriously thinking of his own heritage whilst making it.

I think King Creole, although I think he did many others to be proud of (Jailhouse Rock, Viva Las Vegas, Loving You, Wild In The Country...) (y)
