Do you think Elvis wished he could turn back the clock? I've always wondered if he wished in some ways he never got that famous. Don't know if he ever said anything close to that?

I don't think he wished he wouldn't be so famous, but i've heard somewhere that he wanted to turn back the clock and be a child again...In the late 70s he went to amusement parks often with Lisa...That stuff.:hmm::doh:

I think that his first regret may have been his fame leading to the early death of Gladys. I have read some reports that he was very angry when she died, realizing that his fame, although brought them many wonderful things money-wise, his popularity also took him away from home more than Gladys was comfortable with and she was quoted by more than one person that she wished he would just give it all up, get married and settle down. Of course, we know this would never be the case and she died after he was drafted.
We also know that his career also was partially the cause of his marriage and break-up of his family. Reports also indicate that he may have been willing to change the direction of his career in order to get his family back, but we know that never happened either.

I can't speak for Elvis, but there are many times when I wish I could turn back the clock. There's not much I wouldn't give to have those Las Vegas nights back...to know this is it, and it's going to have to last me for awhile.:blush::sad:

I'm sure Elvis did feel he wished he could turn back the clock at times. Especially with the death of his mother and then again when things seemed to feel so out of hand with his life. I don't know anyone who doesn't feel that way off and on during their lifetime.
