I just got off the phone with my grandmother, who said that her friend Irv is really close friends with a musician who plays the trumpet, and played in Elvis' orchestra during the ALOHA special. I guess, at one point of the show, Elvis throws a scarf into the audience, turns to his band, and says something off-mic. and then laughs along with the band. What he said was, "I can't believe they still like this $#!+."
ANyway, I'm off to go review all of the footage of the show.

If Elvis did by chance say anything like that I would suspect that he'd been singing one of his old hits like Hound Dog. Otherwise it was one of his off the wall jokes. I wouldn't call this an "exciting" story though.

I think that any time we hear a story - 2nd, 3rd even 4th hand - from someone who knew Elvis it can be exciting. I would be the same way if I had been told something like that. I love hearing stories about Morgan Freeman and Justin Timberlake. My SIL knows Morgan and she is friends with Justin's mom. I just love hearing her tell tidbits about them. It's fun.:)

I agree that stories might be fun...if we know that they are true. I can't seem to locate a point in AFH where this exchange would have taken place.:hmm:

I doubt Elvis would have said s*** when hes performing a world wide concert. If it was heard then there might have been trouble.

I just heard it, and got excited, as I am now 4th hand tied in with Elvis.
