 Yes susan Kingsmill are using Elvis' image to promote their bread.
i have'nt seen the bread in the shops yet but I have seen it advertised on tv..the guy in the advert is dressed as Elvis BUT he dos'nt look or talk like him..he sounds more like mickey mouse ..& the idea of Elvis being a baker
who is famously known worldwide for his breadmaking? lol
personally i think its stupid (n) whats Elvis got to do with bread?
Its ok as a bit of fun i guess

Have you all had or seen http://popculturejunkmail.com/images/elvis.jpg (http://popculturejunkmail.com/images/elvis.jpg) ?
Two flavors:
All Shook Up (http://www.edys.com/brand/Grand/flavor.asp?b=134&f=2330) is chocolate ice cream swirled with marshmallow and caramel, with chocolate-covered peanuts.
&
Love Me Tender Brownies (http://www.edys.com/brand/Grand/flavor.asp?b=134&f=2329) is vanilla ice cream with fudge and brownie chunks.
Elvis selling ice cream hardly seems like a wise move by the keepers of the flame...the ever-concerned protectors of the image.
Case in point: When looking for an article on this so I could share it here, the first one I found was called The King Of Junk Food, which made a point to say:
No, they're not stuck (sic) full of barbituates (sic), nor is one peanut butter and banana...though that (sic) I wonder how they resisted.

Kingsmill! He has nothing to do with bread of course, but as the King I guess they thought it would be a fitting name had he started a bakery. I think it's quite nicely done and at least they opted for the young healthy Elvis image. Think of the route they could have taken! An overweight Elvis devouring platefuls of banana and peanut butter sandwiches made with Kingsmill bread would have been predictable. Thankfully they did it in a more positive way :D

Hey...i hav'nt seen the loaf one yet...but have you all heard of the Sure ads yet?....they have used several icons, James Dean, Brando to name but two...and the idea is that even the COOL can sweat. (n) personally taking an image of our man and enhancing him with sweaty armpits...thats just not my scene.
