View Full Version : Record your own duet with Elvis

After the release of the 'Christmas Duets' CD, EPE has launched a special website dedicated to this album. You can listen to samples from the CD and watch the video clip of 'Blue Christmas' with Martina McBride. The coolest option is that you can record your own duet with Elvis. You have to dial a number on your phone (to the USA). After you've recorded the song, you can mail it as a christmas card to your friends.

Cool idea but it doesn't seem to work too well for me. It doesn't record very well -- I know this is over the phone but on playback I kept cutting out -- and perhaps even more annoying is that the sync is way off. No, it wasn't me; I know the timing :) but there is a delay of a second or two. So in order to have it come out right I would have to come in early.
Anyone else try it?

good idea but really the pain of my singing would be the worst christmas gift ever and it would not be a merry christmas after hearing me wailing out a christmas song but a great idea to sing with the king and if the timing is off you would need to time it early so its complicated

Maybe you should try it anyway, goodelvisgirl and others. I say it's not me but I'm also the guy who keeps accidentally double-posting on here all the time lately for unknown reasons.
I really don't think it's me though, honestly. But it could be something that somehow doesn't affect everyone so don't let my issues with it keep you from trying.
The cutting in and out thing...I have tried it holding the phone up close and further away and get the same result, fwiw.
I do love the video of Elvis and Martina. That was done well.

it does break up and it records very low....of course I'm trying it at work where I'm not singing very loud....lol. Pretty cool - but unfortunately keeps breaking up, etc. I'll try again later if I have the chance.

I did, it was exactly the same for me. I couldn't hear the playback very well, first time it recorded very low, next time I was almost yelling which didn't sound much better, lol. And I had the delay too, thought it was because I am in europe. I don't want to know what this phone call did cost....but I think it was fun just to hear the guy say something like: 'you're going to sing a duet with Elvis Presley'....:D;)

I`ve too much respect for Elvis to put my voice anywhere near his!.....Plus,if I sent that as a greeting I`d never hear from anyone again!!......My voice has broken at least twenty times since puberty....plus the effects of the smoking.....honestly,you can`t even begin to imagine how terrible a duet that would be!:)

I can carry a tune but don't have much range and smoking has affected my voice too. Nope, don't think anyone would care to hear my voice along with Elvis'. It's a cute idea though.

I cannot even dare to try my singing and mixing it with Elvis' But a duet with him would be awesome if I could have the right voice to do it...

While it sounds like a very neat idea, I wouldn't dare give it a try....the FCC would probably shut the whole thing down once they heard me sing... :'(
I'll just stick to singing in my shower....I sound GREAT in there!!! :lmfao:
