Okay, so I recently discovered FTDs and got four for my birthday (Closing Night, Impossible Dream, I Found My Thrill, and Nevada Nights). I am a fan of the Elvis between 1969 and 1974, and my favorite songs are Bridge Over Troubled Water, I Got A Woman/ Amen (preferrably 71-early 74), and An American Trilogy. My question is, for someone who owns a bunch of them, what FTDs would you recommend the most for me to put on my Christmas wishlist. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I can recommend:
In Person (coming soon, it has to be great)
All Shook Up
Elvis At The International
One Night In Vegas
Unchained Melody (lots of later rare 70s live stuff)
Southern Nights
Polk Salad Annie
The Impossible Dream
Spring Tours
Dixieland Rocks
Tucson '76 (a surprisingly good release)
Big Boss Man (okay. Not great, but okay)
I Found My Thrill (still in two minds about this one - some interesting stuff on it)
The rest are all pretty routine, and offer nothing new or especially interesting. I wouldn't place them high on my "to get" list:
It's Midnight
Dinner At Eight
Takin' Tahoe Tonight
Dragon Heart
Closing Night
Summer Festival
An American Trilogy
America
Nevada Nights
I'll Remember You

I already have I Found My Thrill, Nevada Nights, Closing Night, and The Impossible Dream, but thanks. I actually really loved the first disk of Nevada Nights.

That's why it's not on my recommended list. In fact, I don't own it. The opening show is fine (I have it on bootleg of course) but none of the other Aug-Sept '74 shows are anything to write home about.
Same with the others on my second list. They're all much of a muchness, and offer nothing exciting.

Primarily, but I'll also do studio. The 8/19/74 opening is great, but I agree with you, the rest is a pain to listen to, especially the "Drug dialogue."

AS RECORDED LIVE ON STAGE IN MEMPHIS– awesome and a great show from 1974. I love NEVADA NIGHTS which you've already got plus the two forthcoming releases should be brilliant–IN PERSON & I'LL REMEMBER YOU.
I've got a feeling the FTD I'LL REMEMBER YOU is going to blow Aloha out of the water, although a soundboard it's got great sound and Elvis is on fine form (according to the FTD team).
If you like shows from 1974 then IT'S MIDNIGHT is very interesting–plus RAISED ON ROCK 2-CD (y)

Although I agree with you that the Aug./Sept. '74 engagement is difficult to listen to at times, I would definitely recommend the IT'S MIDNIGHT FTD CD for you!! There are a couple of monologues included on the CD, but certainly nothing like some of the lengthy ramblings that tend to overshadow this engagement. And considering you are a fan of the period from '69 - '74, I think you would truly enjoy IT'S MIDNIGHT. (y)

What does everyone think about "An American Trilogy"? (FTD CD, not the song.) (Song's one of my favorites)
Unchained Melody

I love listening to the shows from this engagement..I love to hear Elvis interacting with the audience, and being intimate with them, and the singing was as powerful as ever during that time..
As for FTD's, they all are worth getting, I really am looking forward to the I'll Remember You FTD coming along with the IN PERSON release, these will be essentail IMO!!
As a matter of fact after reading all the talk about the i'll remember you FTD I'm going to play Vegas Rythm CD to get prepared..:D
