Hi, on Elvisnews.com the today in Elvis history segment for 29th November 1962 was this.."Back in Memphis Elvis had more than a month off, due to a change of personal appearance plans"
I was wondering if anyone knew which personal apparence plans these were?

According Guralnick and Jorgensen "Day by Day" (1999) page 181 writes:
"November 29 (thursday):
Back in Memphis Elvis has more than a month off owing to a change in personal appearance plans. In combination with RCA, the Colonel has been working on a giant forty-three-city tour, wich he bills as "The Biggest Tour Ever" and for which RCA, as promoter, will guarantee Elvis more than $1 million. RCA, howevers, gets cold feet, proposting that the tour be scaled back to eleven dates, and the Colonel, who believes firmly in the grand gesture declines".
In conclusion the tour never took place(n)

Thanks for this, i was wondering what apperences they were because obvious Elvis never performed in 62, never appereared on TV either. Its a shame that he never performed in 62, imagine the show! Elvis in great voice singing some of those beautiful early 60s ballads
