What did he say about Elvis on the Music Awards last night?

I guess I missed what Jimmy Kimmel said, but did you see them present Mariah Carey with the award for breaking the 2 longest standing musical records in history (held by Elvis)? I was not happy to see that!!

I was pissed when he said this . . . "Elvis died while sitting on the toilet eating a half a jelly donut." I thought he was a jerk too even w/ the Jonas Brothers talking about their virginity and Taylor Swift and the 27 second break-up call w/ her. No class at all on the Elvis remark. I so wished one of the award winners would have called him on it! Jerk! I kept thinking Lisa is probably watching this as Pink, her friend, was on the show. I would have come unglued if I was Lisa.

Thin skins, people, thin skins.
Get over it.
Elvis is not - nor should he ever be - excluded from being the brunt of jokes, however tasteless.

Well, seeing as Elvis isn't here anymore to break any records (whatever they might be), it's going to be a given that records that he once held are going to be broken by other artists - country artist George Strait comes to mind for breaking the Las Vegas attendance record in 1991, for instance.
Thin skins, people, thin skins.
Get over it.

I gotta agree, Getlo. Every artist (at some point in their career be it while they're alive or posthumously) have jokes said about them.
That being said, the "bathroom/'toilet" jokes do get to be a bit much and a bit boring and aggravating at times. But, then again, Elvis didn't choose to die that way.

Jokes are always made about Elvis dying on the toilet when, in fact, he died on the floor of the bathroom/dressing room at Graceland.

Somewhat true, but disappointing in that Elvis is not alive to defend himself. Plus, couldn't he come up with something original?
The "Elvis died on the toilet" joke has NOTHING to do with humor but is just a lame attempt to ridicule someone he is not a fan of and knows there will be no retaliation from the person the "joke" is intended.
I wonder what Lisa thought about that?

It is one thing to make a joke about the King it is another to insult his memory and making fun about the way he died ALONE on the bathroom floor is not ****ing funny!!!!!:cursing:

We haven't heard of this creep "Cr*ppel", here. It's a "who is this ......?" as far as I'm concerned. That's the "man's" idea (to be riding on Elvis' coat-tails).
It's a backhanded compliment to Elvis, and in my opinion, we should see Kreppel as he is ........ what would that be? :hmm:

... while straining at stool. He was in the process of evacuation when he died. On the toilet, or a few feet away. Same diff.
It is semantics; it makes no difference the actual location. He was a few feet away from the crapper, still with his PJs down around his ankles. In essence, he did die on the crapper.
I wonder what Lisa thought about that?
Who cares?

Do not speak for us all Down Under. Jimmy Kimmel is known here in Australia. I presume you've never seen The Man Show or Jimmy Kimmel Live? Obviously not. Both excellent shows.
And what on earth does $$$$$ have to do with a silly little joke from a silly little program? I mean, honestly ...

You've done with your "projecting" for the day. Good.

Tell me, what is disrespectful about telling the truth?
Straining at stool ... evacuation ... both proper medical terms.
Oh, and guess who invented the toilet? (Well, the balcock actually ... or is that too rude for here? :hmm:)
Mr CRAPPER. That's where the name comes from!
Seriously, you people need to get a bloody grip.

Let me ask u something? Would u like to be refered to in that manner if u had died "on the crapper"? Or what if it were ur mother or father that died that way..It was very dispresectful of jimmy to say that:cursing: I used to like him and it wasent this comment that turned be against him. It was the fact that he like to hurt people(n)

Once again ...
CRAPPER is a perfectly acceptable term for the toilet, the commode, the outhouse, the dunny, the loo, the little boys' room ... etc
Would it be any more respectful if I had said "toilet"?
And if my mother and father had died that way - and were world famous personalities - I'd take any silly comments from the likes of Kimmel with a grain of salt.
And so should you.

Hell your right, we should start a thread here making fun of Elvis...i mean, heck just take it with a grain of salt makes it all okay don't it...maybe if you lived in the USA and knew how long these stupid old jokes have been told, and when you tell people you are a fan of Presley you hear the same ol lame jokes..and its sad!

I think that some people just enjoy upsetting other people, and no matter how truthful their words might be they know why they do it,it isn`t because they have an affinity for truth and honesty..it is because it makes them feel clever and important...at least to themselves.Yes, there probably is a place for the truth about the death of Elvis Presley...complete with the correct medical terms...but it isn`t on some tacky show by some half talented "entertainer"...or by some know-it-all on a message board.

What happened to being respectful of the dead? It is unbelievably disrespectful to use another human being's manner of dying as a public joke!! My own father had a fatal heart attack after getting out of the shower-naked, of course. It hurts me to think that he died in such an undignified way. I certainly would be very, very hurt if someone made jokes about the man I saw as the most important person in the world! I can only imagine how hurt Lisa Marie is when she hears these sort of things! It is just totally uncalled for and not the least bit funny!

Some people have no respect for others no matter who they are and in turn, have no respect for themselves in showing coldness, insensitivity and lack of manners. Choice of words make all the difference in the world as to how a person is perceived.

WHILE I CAN CERTAINLY SEE GETLO'S POSITION THAT HE IS SIMPLY REPORTING WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED ON THE DAY ELVIS DIED, I CAN ALSO UNDERSTAND THE FEELINGS OF THOSE MEMBERS WHO ARE/MAY BE OFFENDED BY THE TERMINOLOGY USED IN GETLO'S DESCRIPTION. :hmm:
SINCE WE ALL KNOW HOW ELVIS DIED, I THINK THAT IT IS BEST IF WE SIMPLY MOVE ON AND STICK TO THE ORIGINAL SUBJECT AT HAND....THE THOUGHTS OF THE FORUM MEMBERS ON JIMMY KIMMEL'S REMARKS ABOUT ELVIS DURING THE AWARDS SHOW. AND YES, I KNOW HIS REMARKS INCLUDED THE USE OF THE WORD "TOILET" BUT I THINK WE CAN POST OUR FEELINGS ABOUT HIS REMARKS WITHOUT HAVING TO REFER TO TOILETS (OR ANY OTHER ASSOCIATED TERMS).
TCB!
