In the Essential 60's Masters box set booklet, reads about one of the photos posted below: July '69, rehearsing for his Aug '69 Vegas season.

Now some of the photo dates on that booklet are mistaken. So Im trying to find out if that is correct, and if so, are these the only photos, the only document at all we have from those rehearsals when Elvis put together the TCB Band for the first time?

Raised on Rock,

:hmm:Unsure also & saw those in my box too but here is(y) another photo from that moment out of my collection that I recently posted in the TCB Gallery. Sized it down a bit.

Thanks for your reply and photo. Love it.

Still wonder if those belong or belong not to the '69 rehearsals.

In the Tunzi book Elvis 69 the first photo you posted is listed as Elvis leaving rehearsal from ABC studios LA for his opening night in Vegas.

O.K. so now we got two books confirming these. So chances are it is correct, these pics are from the '69 rehearsals. Thanks for the info.

Anybody has more info about these?

Such a shame we don´t have any tapes or any other item relating about those rehearsals, it would be amazing to hear the TCB Band and Elvis playing together for the first time.

Here is another Elvis photograph that I found on the net, its a rare one to me, and I can't tell the date. I does not belong to the same set that started this thread, but somehow it does look related, so my question is: is this picture around the same time? also from the '69 rehearsals? or it does belong to another time. The Jacket and belt are two items that he often used in 1969 anyhow.

Any help on this will be appreciated.

Elvis rehearsed July 18, 1969.

Songs rehearsed included: Memphis Tennessee, Love Me, Can't Help Falling In Love, Are You Lonesome Tonight, Release Me, Green Green Grass Of Home, Runaway, Suspicious Minds, I'm Movin On, Any Day Now, Yesterday, Hey Jude, Lawdy Miss Clawdy, Rip It Up, What'd I Say, Trying To Get To You, Reconsider Baby, Only The Strong Survive, Words.

In Las Vegas, July 24th he rehearsed the song list as we all know it, but...

He also did: Such A Night as part of the wellknown playlist.

A lot of titles could have been rehearsed earlier, but no records for that.

Rumours as always include titles as: Seventeen, Clean Up Your Own Back Yard, I Need You So, Yellow Roses, Judy, Slow Down and several more.

I could be wrong but I would say that pic could be from late '70 early '71. The hair looks a bit too long to be 1969.

It's definitely not late 70 or 71, the sideburns are different.

I'd also question it being '69 as the hair looks too thick and long.

I know, hair is to long to be Summer '69, and it does looks more like the hair he had around Sep-Nov '70. But as Joe noted, sideburns where much hairier in late '70 early '71, also the clothes (the jacket and the belt) is what he used to wear in 1969, although I've seen Elvis wearing that belt late '70. Also to notice is how skinny he is in that pic, that seem more 69 to me. Anyway we are speculating here, where is Leroy?

Thanks for posting.

P.S. Here are two other pics, I tend to believe these are late '70, looking at them It may be that the red jacket pic might be late '70 too...

I think was taken between october 22-30, 1969, during his vacations after Las Vegas 1rst engagement.

Elvis, Priscilla, Jerry and Sandy Schilling, Joe and Joanie Esposito and Patsy and Gee Gee Gambill try to visit the Bahamas before continuing his trip to Europe from Miami. They stay and Marre by hurricane winds and rain, and they turn home earlier than intended one week later.

Pictures were taken during the rehearsal period in January 1970. You can see Elvis wearing a black macramé belt that belongs to the "Black Broquade Suit", a suit Elvis started wearing during his January/February 1970 engagement.

Really? Ok these is new info to me. So if that is the case then, are there no photographs from the 1969 rehearsals? Now, I got the July '69 info from the Nashville to Memphis booklet, and Hound Dog quotes the Tunzi book with the same info, can you share your source if its available?

What do you think of the red jacket photo? Jan '70 also? if that is so, would it be also from the same week of rehearsals?

Thank you Leroy.

Hola Javier! A trip to Europe from Miami? never heard about that! Where did you get this info? We know the trip never took place, but never heard that at one point it was actually planed.

ROR, this info is in 'Elvis Day By Day'. They didn't go to Europe, the colonel convinced Elvis this would be an insult to European fans to vacation there before touring. The group ended up going to the Bahamas.

Hola Raised On Rock!

Now the traslate ;)
Friends:
This is an event just before, that really had no relevance because the Colonel brought the excuse, posted of jon_burrows, prevented the trip was done.

Parker undoubtedly be an "illegal immigrant in the U.S." could not leave the country, therefore no control over Elvis.
