‘The King’ is alive, claims Elvis Presley’s self-proclaimed half-sister!
Posted on October 16, 2008 | Category: Celebrities, Music
A woman, who claims to be Elvis Presley’s half-sister, says that the music legend is very much alive.
According to MyFOXMemphis.com, Eliza A. Presley has successfully convinced a Memphis probate judge to reopen the estate of the late Vernon Presley, the King’s father.
Eliza, who recently changed her name from Alice Elizabeth Tiffin, says she has DNA evidence to prove her claims - pointing to a envelope licked and mailed to her earlier this year that was allegedly licked by “Jessie Presley,” an assumed name used by Elvis Presley, according to the website.
The website states that the envelope implies “the King did not die in 1977.”
Eliza A. Presley claims to have additional DNA evidence to prove she is Elvis Presley’s half-sister, reports Fox News.
However, according to reports Eliza’s mother denies she had an affair with Vernon Presley.
The judge said his ruling was just to reopen the estate and did not confirm Eliza A. Presley’s claims.
This just makes my cringe with hatrid..How much sicker can this woman get...?Can she not let poor Elvis and Vernon rest in peace, and leave them alone!Such silly things as this make me mad...:cursing::cursing:

half sister = half cranky
I am not a Lawyer but I have delt with tons of them regarding estate law over the last year and I think she's going to be disappointed, because if true, which is unlikely, she probably missed the boat legally speaking a long time ago. When my Dad Died his estate was held in probate for a period of time, I believe it was 8 months to make sure no other heirs came forward because of the way the will was worded "divided equally among my surviving children" and then it went to the people named in the will. Vernon from what I hear had some money, but not big money. He lost a lot in his divorce and he was not a good business man. There is no Key to the castle waiting, she's not entitled to Elvis Presleys money, even if she was Vernons child. She should have A) made her claim sooner and B) claimed to be someone richers child.

well yeh i believe that, but I don't believe it's true..it's just a way to be famous for 15 minutes.........and to get people to think she's actually a Presley..
Even if she turned out to be a Presley,my opinion is she doesn't deserve to carry the name....

If she turns out to be a Presley - why wouldn't she deserve to carry the name? I seriously doubt she is but anyone that proves someone is their father would deserve to have his last name - if they wanted it!!!

I think when the anniversary of Elvis's 100th birthday comes about-someone will claim they have proof he is still alive. It gets sillier and sillier. I recall the first time in the early 80s that I heard "Elvis is alive" I was so excited and hoping that in some way or form it could be true. Well its 31 years now and literally hundreds of rumors, pictures, sightings and claims have been raised-none of these stories has ever proved true.

I couldn't agree with you more and I share that same feeling from 88 when the mysterious song Spelling On The Stone by an anonymous artist came out. I was telling all of my friends back then that he was alive and gonna tour again but as we all now know, that late 80's tour never came.:'(

Good for you! it's high time Elvis got treated with R-E-S-P-E-C-T!!! :D :D
i got what you meant, tho.
btw, somewhere in these threads are newspaper articles of when Elvis appeared in Canada. fans apparently ripped the stadium to shreds, going as far as to take chunks of grass that Elvis had walked on.

I still think it's Graceland putting people up to these stunts. Nobody from EPE sued Gail Brewer in the mid 90s, that tells me that they liked the publicity and not only that, it makes those who believe he's alive think they are going to run into him when they go to Graceland.

I'm not sure what grounds they would have had? Elvis is dead-he can't sue anyone and EPE can not sue for a dead man. They can sue to protect use of his likeness, or image to protect the estate but thats pretty much it.
If Brewer out and out claimed that certain individuals-(Joe,Priscilla, Charlie etc...) helped defraud the public and government as to Elvis's death-then they would be able to sue her on their own behalf. But one of the reasons people can get away with this sort of thing is because its their word against a dead mans.

That artist, IIRC, was/is a man named Dan Willis. He's apparently not been seen or heard from since then.

No, they can't sue a dead man; however, anyone who has a claim to the estate of a deceased person can bring an action against the succession. Although the Judgment of Possession is final, if a person can prove just cause, then the Succession is reopened and legal action proceeds.

Sad but most likely true in most cases.

You are correct-I was actually speaking about Gail Brewer and her book/tapes etc which claimed Elvis was alive in the 90s. She made no claims against the estate of Elvis-so she (or anyone else) was allowed to print her book, make her claims, and then reap the financial benefits.
This woman on the other hand is making a claim against "Vernons estate"
which will have absolutely no bearing on Elvis's estate. As we all know the Vernon was left nothing by Elvis except to live comfortably until his death-all his yearly needs taken care of. I'm not sure why her lawyer included the recent DNA idea in her case. There are questions I have which I'm sure the court will have also.
1-Someone named Jesse Presley sends her a letter and claims to be Elvis?
Why would this Jesse pick this moment to send a letter to this person? With a convenient amount of DNA on a licked stamp.
2-Whos DNA is this? Suppose this DNA comes from this womans real father-sure it will match her but that does not mean its Presley DNA.
Separate samples from some verifiable Presley will have to be brought in to prove 100% that this is Elvis Presley DNA. The danger with this is it may set a precedent in any future claims against "Elvis's estate"-not Vernons, if I were the lawyers who work for EPE and Lisa I would not want that Pandoras Box of DNA opened-because it will put them then in court all the time with every nut who believes that Elvis is their father.
3-Her own mother claims she never had a relationship with Vernon-this woman has to know DNA will tell the true story-so why would she lie that she had no relationship with Vernon?
