I voted RCA too (y) I really love his Sun period but too short....in RCA Elvis spent the most part of his life and career and he had his maturity as a singer (y)

How can you compare a couple of years on Sun to to all those RCA years. The bulk of Elvis' most well known are on RCA obviously. However the Sun recordings are a pivotal time in music history. He would never make such important recordings again. He created something very different in those two years with Sun.They are timeless.

I have voted RCA,was great more ripe, but itīs not necessary to forget that any of his sucesses went out of the SUN RECORDS with a lot of force, which nowadays is his stamp.

Well put Jak and that is why I voted for the sun era.
THe songs he made their are what changed the face of music imo!

As has already been commented, it is impossible to compare the two!

The Sun material captures a raw sound that could only have been made in Memphis. As for RCA this is the main body of material Elvis made in his professional career, very different to that of the Sun records as all the rough edges have been smoothed off and a completely different feel and sound IMO.

Well, to me theres no comparing the two as I see it like this. The sun years are what started it all, and was where he was at when the fame started hitting as soon as That' Alright Mama hit airways all over the south..then with RCA, Heart Break Hotel, which really established him as a mega superstar....

This is a hard question isn't it?lol.
I can't choose either,and I made the darn thing.lol.
but ya'll are right..there the same...Sun started it all,and RCA was the mega-superstar making it big label..

Very hard to compare as has been said - we are hardly comparing like for like .... I voted RCA I guess for the body of work....but those 5 Sun Singles were pivotal and started it all......hard choice!

It's nearly impossible to chose between them. I mean it was a long way from "That's All Right" to "Way Down".
For me it's more interesting how Elvis developed and improved through the years.
So I can't decide.
