If I had to pick to see only one concert it would definately be some '74 or '75 show. But I would also like to see him in 1955-56-57. Anyway I think that it doesn't matter which era do you like best. We all would faint if we saw him anytime in person...

Tough call. Impossible call, really.
Elvis' most 'important' period was undoubtedly the '50s -- some would limit it to the Sun sessions -- but he had moments of greatness throughout his entire career. The '60s studio sessions were almost uniformly sublime, the '68 TV special included what were arguably among his finest moments ever, the Memphis '69 sessions were a triumph on every level, and Elvis in the '70s was a stadium-filling force of nature.
I tend to listen most to the '70s Elvis and in some ways it was his most accessible era (witness the volume of fan-shot and even professionally-filmed live footage and all of the audience-recorded tapes and soundboard reels that have surfaced), and in that period Elvis pretty much summed up the rest of his career and life even though the results were sometimes uneven and occasionally even heartbreaking. But I can't ignore the sheer world-changing power of Elvis in the '50s, or the pop perfection of his '60s studio work and even the escapist fun of many of his film outings.
I'd say that it's in the '70s that the mantle of 'King' fits most convincingly -- the jumpsuits, the capes, Also Sprach Zarathustra and the sheer spectacle of an Elvis concert -- but that status didn't just magically appear or stem simply from the fact that the dude was one good-looking hombre with outsized personal and stage charisma; Elvis started building, without pretense or artifice or even special intent, ELVIS PRESLEY way back during those first Sun sessions when neither he nor anyone else had any way of envisioning even a trace of what was to come.

I Have To go with 70's.
The 70's were Much better:
-Songs improved (much,much better music)
-Fantastic Style
-He was never that famous like in 70's
-His voice became more powerful.

That's like asking me to pick which of my kids is my favorite! :lmfao:
But seriously, I had to go with all the above, simply because each era contains a part of Elvis' career I cannot do without:
50's: Mainly the Sun Records / Louisana Hayride. Nothing like Elvis 'back to basics'!
60's: I love a lot of the movie songs, especially the obscure ones, and no way could I ignore the '68 Comeback' or the American Sound Studio sessions from 1969!
70's: My 'era of the moment'. No one sings sad songs better. And although it tough when you know why he was singing those songs, the power and emotion he put behind a majority of them floor me every time!

As much as I enjoy the 70's, especially the jumpsuits and concerts, I went for the 60's, because musicially he was so diverse during this period.
I also believe that a good # of the movie songs he recorded were highly underrated.

Interesting Call Steve, I have always been a huge 70's fan but my favourite period musically is 1969, there are so many great tracks from 68-69-70, however from a purely fashion point of view what can I say, the 70's wins every time (y)
