As mentioned on the Graceland Closing thread, there's rumros of a planned Pop duets album in the form of Chrstmas Duets next year featuring the top stars in all music fields. So, who would you like to hear duet with Elvis? Here's my wish list.

Elvis vs Beatles-Hey Jude or Something
Elvis vs Kid Rock-Promised Land
Elvis vs Faith Hill-Faded Love
Elvis vs Bob Dylon-Tomorrow Is A Long Time
Elvis vs B.B. King-Big Boss Man
Elvis vs Justin Timberlake-Clean Up Your Own Back Yard
Elvis vs Leana Lewis-Stranger In The Crowd
Elvis vs Beyonce Knowles-If I Can Dream
Elvis vs Tim McGraw-Good Time Charlie's Got The Blues
Elvis vs Whitney Houston-Bridge Over Troubled Water (featuring The Sweet Inspirations)
Elvis vs Lisa Marie Presley-Don't Cry Daddy or Solitaire
Elvis vs Carrie Underwood-Just Pretend

I've always wondered if you took Tina Turner performing 'Proud Mary' (from 'The Midnight Special') and somehow spliced it with Elvis performing the same song (from 'Elvis On Tour'... complete with his shout of 'turn that bass up...'), how that would sound. I'm sure with the right person doing it it could be done and sound awesome!

There are many wonderful female singers who are great at what they do, but as I've stated in the Christmas Duet thread, maybe Elvis' voice is just too powerful for another person to sing along or these singers wanted to put to much artistic license with Elvis' already established songs, but I just prefer to have Elvis' voice alone on tunes that he performed. Lets face it Elvis fans, once Elvis takes a song and makes it his own, there will never be a better or more moving version of it.

Tina Turner, my favourite female artist (second would be Melissa E.)..since I was a teen. Elvis in his black leather days ..and Tina in her black pvc "jumpsuit" doing Proud Mary....now THAT would be stunning! Complete with the pyro~technics she uses.

Here's an Idea that I hope you guys like. Leona Lewis's song "Better in time" with samples of Elvis' voice singing "always on my mind". It seems to me that it would fit in quite well in this song? Do you guys agree?
Below is a link to"Better in time" on you tube so you can maybe see what I see in how great Elvis' voice would go great in this song! Please let me know what you think?

Nobody.

I'd like to hear some of the songs he jammed on with other singers (Beatles, James Brown, Mama Cass, etc) back then, of course, but these new and potential future duets basically leave me cold, for the most part. Elvis was not really the duet type, partly because of the nature of his voice(s) but also, frankly, because the asymmetry's just too great...Elvis was so massive a star and a presence on the cultural landscape that the mere fact of him being on the recording would kind of overwhelm the proceedings. Yes, I know he did some movie duets, but they're oddities among his catalog.

Not sure I'm explaining this right -- I'm tired -- but there's also always just the mere fact that I find it really hard to get excited about electronically reprocessed posthumous duets with performers who, for the most part, are lightweights by comparison to Elvis (and, no, it wouldn't make much of a difference to me if they were from among the crop of the few remaining real superstars of music). I'm not saying I might not like some of these duets if I heard them -- I probably would like some, not that they would (or are intended to) replace the originals -- but I sure wouldn't go out of my way to even listen to them.

- Tom Jones
- Freddy Mercury
- John Lennon
- Roy Orbison
- Cliff Richard

Female voices:

- Madonna (two great idols, I'm sure it would be great to hear it...)
- Celine Dion
- Tina Turner
- Barbra Streisand

Agreed upon 1100CCRider, as I had been joking further up the page.

I like to hear him sing with his favorite artists - he thoroughly enjoyed singing religious music and he wanted to be part of the choir rather than just showing off his strength vocally.

He was a humble man and his understanding of singing with a choir helped him to produce some of the finest music among (southern) gospel.

As for a posthumous duet: it looks artificial to me and I don't need that. :)

When this subject has been raised in the past, I've always thought about who I think would song good singing with Elvis (and I've half (seriously) joked around, too) but seriously, I personally, can't think of anyone to sing with Elvis who is around, now, and entertains, except for family.

If Elvis was happy to sing with, whomever made him happy, I would be happy, that would be the way to go.

Elvis has always stood out, as as an incredible talent, within himself. He, more than anyone else, has the instinct and knowledge, to know what works, and doesn't. In my opinion, Elvis would need to sing (or have sung) with someone, where loving emotion was involved, (Mrs Presley) and now in today's time, that would be with Lisa.

If I was to be selfish, I would love that, as I think he would enjoy that tremendously, which would make me happy.

On the subject of Lisa, I am so proud of her. Four children, a happy marriage, a lovely home (by all accounts) she is doing so well. Grandaddy Elvis would have to be so proud, I am, so much of him, too.

Buttonhead? I know a buttonhead. I guess I don't, I'm not Elvis. Still, I wish the lady well. She has great kids. Just remind her to love them all her heart but give them a little rope. And stand behind them. Oh yeah, have a few go cart races with them. Don't worry, I won't bother you fancy people anymore.

Tennman, will you stay on, be here. Some people want you to be here and who cares about those who don't?
There are no "Fancy" people here. No one is any better than any one of us..it's just some like to play it up...be the big shot who took a picture with Elvis, knew him, went to a concert.. ho ho...so what? Big deal...in the scheme of things, the majority of fans have done all that.....some a little closer, some not. Some fans were fans after the fact, and they never had a chance to see a concert live. They weren't even born yet.
Please stay..............you are bothering no one.
Remeber how on another NG I was so disliked, I was told to leave? LOL I didn't..and in this world, the people who are tough enough to take it, stand tall and form, they don't leave..they stay no matter what.
Whoever you are, or are not doesn't matter to me, just that I like you.
I want you to stay.
