I was wondering.....

There are so many names kids could have relating to Elvis life .

I guess hardly anyone calls his son Elvis but there will be lots of Aron's or Jessie's, etc etc.....

I wanted to call my first daughter Lisa Marie but my hubs tought it was a bit old fashioned so she became a Melissa...

My second one, again a girl, I was descided to give her a name that matched her sister's and yes it became a...... Priscilla;)

I called my son Aaron....but me and my partner(at the time) had loads we didn't know what to pick.
Well was all down to me really he wasn't that bothered. My boy while he was in my tummy was Hayden, Dean(James Dean), Marc(Marc Bolan) and even Martin. I did joke and told my partner I wanted Elvis but he totally said no way (not an Elvis fan you see, hmmm what the devil was I with him for, God only knows LOL).
I had some complications with my pregnancy which thankfully to say worked out ok in the end. On the actual day of the birth my son went into distress (cord round his neck) and I had to have an emergency C-section, So when I came round (I was put to sleep no time for epidural) I just saw my boy wrapped up in the blanket all out of focus and I remember saying we can't call him Martin he has to be an Aaron. Cos like Elvis(in my eyes anyhow) my boy was and is a gift from God and I don't think I could love him anymore then I do if I tried.

beautiful post Julie and Aaron is a beautiful name.
If I would have had a son i would have called him too Aaron or Aron.

If i still would have another girl it would be definately a "Riley":):)

My oldest daughter's name is Lisa Marie. She hated it as a youngster. But now that she's matured she has embraced it.

what kid likes their name? i hated Sara as a kid, especially, since every other girl in my class was named Sara and we were always given alternate names or something to distinguish us- i was Sara 2 or just called by my last name!
i could easily name a son Elvis, but definitely Jesse, Aron or Presley, daughter - Elvia- of course, there is his opinion to consider! :lmfao:

I really never considered naming my kid after elvis or his family. IMO l got the name Anthony from the godfather movie. It was either going be patrick or anthony, but anthony was such a beauiful name to me and so is my son so it fits lol

I named my daughter Shelby - after Shelby county - Memphis TN. I love the sound of the name plus I love that it honors EP!

Shelby is indeed a name often heard amongst Elvis fans and indeed also a beautiful name.

I gave my daughter a Priscilla-related name but I won't reveal it here for fear of persistent humiliation.

Lisa Marie is a name I would consider for my daughter if I were to have one. Thats a beautiful name. As far as naming a boy Elvis I think is not good because there's only one Elvis.

I named my 4 year old son 'Aaron' after Elvis. Now mind you, my first name is Aaron, but it was never my intention to name him after to me. But at the time I'd only been an Elvis fan a little over a year (in late 2003) when we found out my wife was having a boy, and so my first choice was to name him 'Presley'. Well my wife felt it was no different than naming him Elvis, and from her view 'There's only one Elvis."

So I said, "What about 'Aaron'? She said, "Do you mean after you?", and I said 'No! after Elvis'. And that's what happened.

Oh yeah, and one of his middle name's is 'Taylor'... after Charlton Heston's character in 'Planet of the Apes'. No really! :)

As I don't have any kids I can't really say anything here :P, but when I do have kids I would like to name them after Elvis, with Aaron most likely. But I doubt it will happen if I'm with the girl I'm with now then :lmfao::lmfao:(y)

i like all your comments here.
My girl Priscilla likes her name very much because here in Belgium it is not often heared at all. But most people do know when she tells her name that she is named after Elvis his wife.

They often say oh OK so you are a "pretty Priscilla"

Her friends call her Cilla....

Noone calls her Pris

I never thought of using the name Presley. I like that, much like using the name Madison after the mermaid/president. But my days of having children are long gone (y)! I have a distant cousin whose married name is Steele - and yes, she did name her son Remington Levi (anyone remember that show?) and her daughter Laura Leigh.
My son recently introduced me to a friend of his named Elvis. Paul said when he first met Elvis all he could do was laugh and say, "no really, what's your name?" And I have to admit, I really wanted to quiz him about what it was like to grow up with that name, but I resisted. But now that this thread has surface, I may go back to Olive Garden where Elvis works and interview him.
