Say for a minute that Elvis came back to this world as a ghost. What's your opinion on what you personally think Elvis would have thought of Las Vegas and Memphis and his impact on those city today if he were to see them for the first time since 77?
Me personally, I think he would love it and be overwhelmed at having a prescense in the city 3 decades after he last performed there. I think he would love the glitz and glamour look and the high rise luxury hotels that boarder the boulevard strip. Remember when he was there there wasn't anything like there is now. The Hilton and MGM were the only themed luxury hotels then that's there today. I think he would be saddened to see places like The Flamingo, The Mint, and the Alladin all no longer there that were part of the original Vegas during the mafia era. But I think he would be happy to see that the Hilton survived the wrecking ball.
As for Memphis, I don't know. I think he would be let down at how dirty and crime invested the city is now, how it's lost it's cultural feel and charm and I think that would upset him. I do think he would be brought to tears to know that so many loyal fans for all these years flock to his grave to pay their respects, to keep his memory alive and to see all of the younger fans coming as well. I don't think he would be happy with the way Graceland is run or how it looks rundown in the surrounding area and the fact that it's a museum now and no longer the Graceland that he once knew and loved. But I think it's safe to say that once he saw all of the gold and platinum records hanging from the ceiling to the floor that he would be in awe of his own success.
Memphis having pro sports, the NBA, would excite him and make him proud of the city being able to land a professional sports franchise since they were trying to land NFL football sicne the 60's.
