The Memphis Mafia, and include family Billy Smith in that aswell.
I think they would be great to talk to hear the stories and they were with Elvis the most too.

Yes, let me add Glady's Presley to that list.
So thats THe Memphis Mafia, Billy, and Glady's.....I don't see the point in talking to Lisa, she was only 9 when Elvis passed, so theres probably not alot of insight stuff she could say .....

If i had to choose 1 person i think it would be Billy Smith, he knew Elvis from childhood to the end and could offer a fantastic all round point of view, in all the interviews i have seen and read Billy always comes across as honest and sincere and makes no attempt to tilt his opinion to make Elvis something he wasnt ( for good and bad).It has always puzuled me why Lisa is not closer to Billy as he was so very close to her father ( although that might be the answer:D).

Billy believes that Priscilla has prevented Lisa from contacting that side of the family for 'class' reasons, but there is no real proof for this. Last I heard, he hadn't spoken to Lisa since he was an employee at Graceland.

Lisa is an adult, if she wanted contact with her family she could do it.

Gladys would be my first choice, then Lisa, then Billy.

Well, you would think so. I certainly don't subscribe to the notion that she is commandeered by her mother. And it is a shame.

Elvis! Himselvis!
Other than that, I'd probably go with a musician who worked with him over a period of years. I think I'd find that more interesting than most of the other choices (I've met a few people who knew Elvis, and liked their stories and insight, but I have little time for some of the leeches in his life and, frankly, find the story of Elvis as a performer more compelling than any other part of it and also less explored and written about).

Poor Teddy...he can't decide between Linda Thompson and/or Ginger Alden.;);)

Absolutely!!!! She is 40 years old and making decisions for herself. Priscilla certainly couldn't prevent her from marrying Michael Jackson, and she couldn't prevent her from having a relationship with Billy either.....IF she wanted one!:blink:

To me its because Lisa and her mother think they are too good to associate with that side of Elvis' family...:doh:

Lisa's not very close tp Patsy Presley either which surprises me since Elvis, and Pris were VERY close to Patsy...
but It's a shame about Billy, seeing him at Elvis week 2008 this year,he was a very nice person..very friendly..

Yes she did brad and she also spent time at pastys after elvis died. If she wasn't close to pasty than there is no way she would be working at EPE or even have a place in elvis by the presleys.

Well, I've never heard Billy say that out of his own mouth. Maybe someone else did. I think it's part true personally. But I think there is more to it than that.

That's what he said to Alanna Nash for the book Elvis and the Memphis Mafia.
His exact quote is: "Since Elvis died, Priscilla's kept Lisa away from the family. It was like she said to her, 'They're lower class. You don't want to associate with them'. And that hurts. The last time I saw Lisa was when I worked at Graceland".
I don't blame him for feeling hurt but I think Lisa should take the responsibility for this.
Perhaps it's easier to live with the idea that this is down to Priscilla's influence rather than apathy or disinclination on the part of Elvis's daughter.
The uncomfortable truth is that Lisa is a fully grown woman who has neglected to get in touch.

Jerry Schilling and Charlie Hodge. They look nice people for me and they were true friends.
True friends don't spread false rumors about their friends/bosses having bone cancer or other stories that should be kept private....of course, that could also apply to Lamar Fike, Marty Lacker and Billy Smith when they wrote "Elvis Aaron Presley: Revelations From The Memphis Mafia" in regards to some things they mentioned in that book.
With that being said, I would love to meet all of the surviving members of the Memphis Mafia as well as Elvis and Gladys and Vernon and even Priscilla & Lisa Marie.

I think there may be two reasons why Lisa Marie doesn't keep in touch with Billy etc. One is that bucking her mother's wishes probably isn't very pleasant and the other, she's so much her father's daughter in that department hating to confront unpleasantness. Also like her dad, but on a smaller scale, she has surrounded herself with a few chosen friends and has made up her own little safe world.
