I thought it was really good. Most of all, Billy Smith MOST DEFINITLEY should have been in it, guess the Priscilla clan would think he would make them look bad :doh:He did spend up 20 hours a day with Elvis in the last year of his life.

I thought including Billy Smith, and atleast Charlie Hodge would have been nice..I understand about Charlie, the rest of the MM would have been ready to kill, but atleast Billy Smith....

I thought it was okay for what it was but what Priscilla and Lisa said on the special I've heard them say everything before, nothing really new from them and even though some of the footage was new to me most of it I've seen before.
I have heard Marty Lacker say that he didn't care that he wasn't asked and he said if him or Billy Smith had been asked they would've declined.

And I don't blame Billy for wanting to decline.
The estate Priscilla and Lisa have been pretty downright low to Billy if you ask me.
I haven't seen it and would try to one of these days.
"Elvis by the PRESLEYS", perhaps they wanted to have only the "Presleys" in it. But, then Billy Smith is also family so he should have been included.
My opinion.

I liked the Elvis footage and it was very well put together but overall I thought it was all B.S. The fact that they had, The Blackmail Family aka The Beaulieu on it made me sick.
And then for Priscilla's parents to talk about Elvis like they hung out with him all the time really rubbed me the wrong way.
but overall it was done very well. In that I mean the production, editing and script was good.

I liked it but, when Ann & Paul Beaulieu said Elvis offered them 10 thousand dollars to fix up their home..Ann reacted so fake. As i've stated many time Priscilla and her parents are gold diggers! I know certain members and moderators like Priscilla but i have freedom of speech and that's my opinion!

I think what we need is an "Elvis by the Smiths". If you want to know who was there in the beginning before fame, during Elvis's rise, and in the later years, a story from that perspective, I think people would find very interesting. Not just one from the later years when he became so famous, and one's who left him after they got what they wanted.

It would be nice to hear from both sides of the family but maybe they have enough respect for elvis to keep there memories to themselves. I can't blame them after seeing and reading all the things friends and family have said over the years and to be honest we can sit and say thats a great idea but if they did make a dvd people would say there riding the coatails just the has been said about people in elvis life that have spoke up and wrote things.
another thing is if this was really inportant for the family to share there views about elvis don't you think they would? it just seems they would of done it by now since its been 31 years
Diane

I think the reason they haven't is that it takes a lot money they don't have to put something like that together Jen. Priscilla isn't exactly sharing any of Elvis' estate with them.

Not saying priscilla doesn't have her say in things but lisa does own the estate and she isn't going to let her mother or anybody push her around when it comes to that kinda stuff. I don't ever recall anybody being around elvis in the 70's from his family except vester and billy smith.

According to Marty. Gary Hovey threatened to sue them and the company that was distrubuting the All the Kings videos.
I said they might try I wouldn't put it past them. I didn't say they would.
If Billy Smith and Jo came out with a t.v. special that was Elvis by the Smiths
that could cause problems and anger Priscilla but it appears Billy isn't interested in doing that.

I never heard that by any of the other boys so makes me wonder how much turth is in that statement.
Priscilla doesn't call the shots in EPE, if you want to blame someone maybe you should start with the idot called sillerman who only looks out for money. billy smith has every right to do what he likes and if he wanted to make elvis and the smiths than l can't see anyone having the power to stop him since he is family, except good ole sillerman.

That would be so cool if they did that. Priscilla is not even a Presley anymore and her parents, The Blackmail family, never were Presley's. So the title isn't even true to the special. The only Presley was Lisa Marie.
When is Priscilla and her parents going make the sequel to, Elvis & Me, & call it, "Let's Blackmail Elvis, by the Beaulieu's.

Yes I know who runs EPE.
What Lacker says in interesting but I agree with you and don't believe everything he says or agree on all of his opinions but I do know Hovey is kind of a jerk imo.
Sillerman might not like it either and Priscilla still is an advisor of some sorts and then their is Lisa Marie who still owns a small portion of her dad's image
I was just saying it may cause problems if Billy Smith were to do something like that but he's not interested. One things for sure if he did it would not get the promotion the EBTP got.

Well I just want to correct that idea. They were. Of course far too many died. Bobby, Tracey, Junior, Travis but even so, people know about their interactions with Elvis. Aunt Lorraine (Billy's mom) lived right across the street from Graceland and sometimes watched Lisa. She's gone now. While Gene and Elvis had a falling out in the 60's, they forgave each other and Gene did visit in the later years. And then some of the cousins did not have much interactions after about 1968. Billy and Jo's boys were around and would have an interesting view of Elvis, who was more of an uncle than a cousin to them. (they are grown boys now with families of their own)
I will tell you that Billy was very reluctant to do Revelations. For years he was asked and people told him he should do a book. I'm not sure why he changed his mind and did "Revelations". I can take a real good guess but that would be just that, a guess.
I think P31 makes a really good point when she says, more or less, would it be worth the grief it may cause. It's kind of sad in a way because their is a lot of history/stories of Elvis out there in this family and even their extended family. (Elvis treated them all like family-even my hubs family) that will probably never be told.

MissyM, if there is as much history and great stories to be told about Elvis as you claim, there is nothing stopping you or anyone from writing them down and recording them for prosterity. Granted, you probably wouldn't get a huge book deal like say "Careless Love", but just have these wonderful memories recorded is very important, if only for the immediate family. And, Elvis was just too important a person in the lives of these people to have their stories overlooked.
I am sure that many members of the family are now gone and their stories will remain forever silent (such a missed opportunity!), but I am sure that many others have much to add to the Presley lore and could only produce good feelings among the family, especially if its not done as a financial gain, but rather a labor of love.
Its very easy to write a book. Its just a matter of putting down on paper what happened in some interesting fashion. I've been involved in such projects and its always been a very rewarding process and something that I think Elvis fans here would be interested in.

I recall something about that-was the possible suit in relation to video clips of Elvis? Did the estate hint that the clips were Elvis's since it was his cameras which filmed them? I'm pretty sure they did this with Joe.

Revelations came a while after the firing of Billy that Priscilla did. (not even to his face) I would imagine that being involved in Revelations and some interveiws following didn't make her and Lisa real happy.

Well I can understand your way of thinking because there are things you don't know. They are not lies, just items that are untold, in order to give a perception of her that she wants to keep hidden. I could tell you one thing and I can almost bet it would change your opinion of her. But I am not about to go public. It is not my place. For one, I don't have absolute proof, lots of evidence but no absolute truth. So, IMO it stands pretty well. But you see, that is the problem. Just like Curry couldn't prove his case, there are things people can't prove so since that happened, no one is going to put some things out there. Therefore when it comes to the publics perception of her, she will always have the upper hand.
But none of that is really relevant to the original post.
I just think that people would be touched by some of the stories about Elvis that the Smith's know.
It's ironic to me the P31, thought they weren't around that much.
Elvis was their relative as much as he was the "Presleys", but that clearly is not the picture that has been painted.
Billy, Jo, the sons, Billy's mom meant the world to Elvis. They were loyal to Elvis, no matter what for how many years???? From infancy to death. You tell me who knew Elvis the best? Surely not Priscilla's parents or relatives. And yet, they try to tell you who he was??
It's ludicrist at best.
Look at the pictures of Cilla at Elvis actual service?? You see Lisa sitting next to her? No you don't. Because she was with Billy's mom Lorraine. I know that for a fact!! And yet Priscilla riped that child from the lives of these people who spent time with her, loved her with all their hearts, she knew better than Cilla's family.
And then they have the gall to sit on their fancy couches and talk about Elvis as if they were all that and more.

Well I can't possibly argue with evidence which isn't being revealed to me, as you know.
But sometimes, when something still can't be proven, in spite of what appears to be overwhelming evidence, it's with good reason.

And then they have the gall to sit on their fancy couches and talk about Elvis as if they were all that and more.
Gag me please!
Well you certainly have my interest-if you are pretty sure of the truth of the matter why not spill it and bring it to light? Would you not be doing a service to the truth? Truth wins out they say!

I know what you mean but the purpose of her parents talking in that video was more a matter of backing Priscilla's up and the stories she wants people to know. Same with her sister. There's no way they would invite anyone she isn't in good terms with because the intention of it all was first money and second showing a picture as nice as possible of her.
A DVD about Elvis???? My a**

I get what you guys mean too. I mean her sister for crying out loud when we could've had a great inside point of view from the likes of Billy, his mom, etc...absolutley pathedic. Maybe one day we could get a real Elvis By The Presleys from the ones who actually knew Elvis..not saying her parents and sister didn't, but not the way the others did.

LOL Teddy I´m glad you enjoy it but the title of the DVD it's misleading to say the least and a cheap attempt to force us to listen her side of the story.
Maybe the DVD contains some easter egg I didn't find where she admits having been unfaithful to Elvis too and how she found so strange Elvis's interest in paranormal and religion when she is now into some of the weirdest one herself. ;)

Have you ever met her Teddy? If you have, how did the security staff manage to separate you from her?

I have :D
Her security folk were definitely twitchy but they could tell that the only potential threat which I was presenting was the possibility of extreme affection.
She didn't appear especially unnerved by my conduct, though, and was charming and affable right up to the moment when I started sniffing her hair.

You know after reading all this I guess we just have to accept the fact that Priscilla is Lisa's mother of course she is going to have her way, which I guess isn't that bad, I mean in a way I understand why maybe Lisa isn't close with that side of the family I guess I'm speaking of Billy and some others, maybe she feels just because they were around Elvis so much in the end they could've done something to help save him but didn't i'm not sure.

I think it was pretty obvious that Priscilla felt she had married beneath herself and may have instilled that in her daughter but at the same time, there may be another personal reason for Lisa to distance herself from her dad's family. Maybe she resented their time with him that took some of his time away from her or maybe she witnessed or heard something she didn't like. I don't think she's very close to the Beaulieus either.
Lisa is the only one we could ever find the truth out about this subject.

Lisa is close to her mom's family. She was with them more and after Vernon died with Elvis's family very little. So naturally she would be close to them. I sure don't have a problem with that at all. Family is important. I doubt she resented them at all either.
But as young as she was when Elvis died, and the years after I think she just accepted the way things were. Personally I don't think she is the type that thinks Elvis's family is beneath her, her mother yes. But I think it is just a case that she has made a life and it's been so long, it's water under the bridge and has been for many many years.
Priscilla did not cultivate or encourage these relationships except for with Vernon, and Patsy. And with Patsy, I think she made more of an effort to stay in touch with Lisa. There wasn't any bad blood between Cilla and Patsy concerning Graceland and Patsy was in an entirely different situation with Cilla.

What you have to say about Lisa and Priscilla Missy does sounds very plausible and I would tend to feel that it's most likely the way things really are.

It's definitely cool for it's home movies content, and for actually seeing Pricilla and her parents talk about Elvis.
However, it lacks a lot. I mean, one gets more of who Elvis REALLY was from 'This Is Elvis'. I enjoy the effort Pricilla, Lisa and the powers that be at EPE, but sometimes, just because we may feel better to only recall the good times, to really know Elvis one must take a look at both the good and bad times.
Just my opinion.
