Had Elvis lived on August 16 1977,do you think he really would have written his autobiography Through My Eyes Only as has been rumored?

possibly yes..I know there are many who can easily say, he wouldn't have done this or that according to the Elvis image in their minds but had he had time, people would've learned that he is much more than the mediatic image the king of R&R or the fun loving naughty guy as his buddies think he was..I believe we would've had much more insight to the human Elvis,(maybe even closer to the way he already resonates me somehow..);)

Elvis started a lot of projects he never finished. I just could imagine how he would have told his own story. We have glimps of it on, ELVIS ON TOUR, even more on the out takes.
The way he described his movie career in the 60s gave me the impression that he was very embarrassed of them. When compared to his roles in, King Creole, Flaming Star and Wild In The Country, I could see why. I've been in two movies and a sitcom and seeing these actors in person really gave me a lot of respect for what Elvis did. It's not as easy as it looks.
The other project that came to mind was his, Karate or Kempo movie in 1974. You could see how intelligent Elvis was when he speaks about the Martial Arts.

I really don't think he would have. I think he was too private, and too humble.

he was private but he had limits to what he talked about in public or what he wanted to the general public to know. The rest as it would be with all of us, was his business.

I somehow doubt that Elvis would have written a book about his life.

It's hard to say...he didn't even like giving interviews, he was so private. I would have to say probably not!
But, maybe after all that was written and said about him, he would want to write and tell his side.
I wonder if all those books would still have been written about him, had he lived..

"The Book" was written before he died! I don't think had he lived there would have been any more books written. And, the MM wouldn't be what they've become to be since he died!

Agreed!(y) I don't think there was any chance he was going to write a book.;):blink::blush:
He didn't even care to "answer" the book "Elvis What Happened" so I'm more inclined to believe that he wouldn't write any book. He had kept most of his life private, it's just not him.

This makes sense to me but I don't Elvis' book would have been anything like, "What Happened". I'm sure most of it would have been sugar coated and he tended to stick to the original stories of when he got famous. Even, recording,"That's All Right, Momma", for his mother. He tells that story on stage in the mid 70s.

He told Larry Gellar before he died that he was going to write a book about his life in response to the bodyguard book to give his side of things but I doubt he would've done it as talking about himself and his life to outsiders wasn't his style. I hope that if Elvis decided to write a book about his life he would wait until he was older so he would have more to talk about and he would tell the good and bad with warts and all, honestly and openly.
The thing about celebrity autobiographies is if you've read one you've read them all, their all about eveybody knowing each other and doing drugs, getting drunk, having a bad family etc. I hope Elvis book would be more interesting and different than that.

I think that his intimacy was very his,I think that his perfect biography, went everything what he did in the stage, and out,tape-worn nothing that to hide, this way they all know of ,in order that a book,if it to able to experiment live,is biography was the same.

I really can't see elvis writing a book like revelations or elvis what happened for the simple part elvis liked having his life private. Its not that he wouldn't like to share his adventures, but seeing where elvis came from and how he was raised, that wouldn't interest him a bit being so open.

Well I know Elvis was very private, but I know Elvis was very upset about Elvis-What Happened...and I think if he was still here now,he would have had to clear up some things....I think there would be a lot more Elvis What Happeneds.....So I think he would have felt obligated to do so...
