Vegas Star Ceremony takes place this month

The Nevada based Viva Las Vegas Fanclub has just announced the date of the official Star Ceremony on the Vegas Strip. Elvis’s star will be located at the Riviera Hotel on Las Vegas Blvd. This is the closest casino to the Hilton (on Paradise Rd.), where Elvis performed his record-breaking shows. It also seems fitting to have his star placed near Liberace’s on the sidewalk, since the both of them were friends and shared the affinity of spectacular entertainment. If you’d like to attend the ceremony, be sure to be there on September 26 2008. The dedication ceremony on stage takes place at 11 am, at the Riviera Hotel. A special Star Dinner is held at 8 pm at the Las Vegas Hilton.

Thanks for the info, it gives me an idea of what to do on my trip, I cant attend but i'll be back to Vegas this October and check out the Elvis star.....

I'm leaving for Vegas on Saturday, but will be back home b/f this ceremony. I'm going to get to the Riveria and check out the stars and see if they have something indicating that Elvis' will be there soon.

there is no sign that elvis is coming. :)

the unveiling ceremony will take place inside the riviera's theatre friday the sept 26. there is no advertisement for that. the ceremony is open only to an invited list. it is not open to the general public. it's unfortunate that elvis matters put the word out incorrectly.

only those on the list at the door will be admitted to the ceremony: donors, VIPs, and media. just so you know... it is Standing Room Only.

the article said 'most'. we raised it all and then some! we donated $1000 to st jude's ranch for children during the ceremony.

it's been a long day, but i will say IT WAS FANTASTIC!!!!!

the star ceremony was WONDERFUL, we had fun celebrating at the Pete Vallee show paying tribute to Elvis, and the Hilton dinner was a lovely way to end the day.

i am EXHAUSTED, but so proud ... i and my club and the donors had a great day celebrating our accomplishment! we are so happy for elvis!

elvis' star will be ready for viewing in the sidewalk on tues sep 30.

many took pictures, and i hope they will be posted here.

a dvd and picture show will be available in the future for all to experience this magnificent day.
